Hello and about time I actually signed up.

Welcome aboard!  You will find you're not the only one from the UK, there are quite a few of you from that side of the pond

Been a Giants fan since before I had a choice. Been a long time Big Blue Interactive reader and poster, but BBI is full of little angry men now lol just can't take the negativity anymore. People don't share opinions there anymore, they attack each other. Not a good place for someone who tries to view things with a positive outlook and just wants to talk Giants football.

So anyway here is my background:

-Grew up in upstate NY but moved to Tampa FL 6 years ago.

-My father got 2 tryouts with the Giants in 1978 and 1979 made it to final cuts in '79

-I played for Northwestern for 2 seasons(2000-2001) as a HB turned WR, project didn't take and had my bouts with irratating injury's (hamstring, broken hand)

-After Finishing my degree became a teaching pro at a golf course in NJ for 5 years.

-Left golf to help my dad with his dream of owning a sports bar.

-After the Bar went bankrupt I now work in Florida on the corporate level for restaurant equipment and supplies.

That's probably way more info than I needed to share but I got on a roll lol

After logging into BBI everyday for the last 12+ years, I really hope this place becomes my new hub for Giants insight and news. It was actually a linked review on BBI that brought me here, it was a post from UKgiantsfan and I believe he used to be on BBI IIRC. So I figured if it's good enough for him then it's worth a shot.

Also recently through a work contact I have developed a friendship with DRC, so every now and again I get some insight and info from a current Giant.

Anyway happy to be over here now. Great time of year to be a Football Fan !

Welcome to the Board, Tampa!!!!!  Have you signed up for Dan the Man's group for the Giants/Bucs game?

I spent three years in Tampa, 1954 - 57, in the USAF, assigned to MacDill.  It was a lot different then

TampaGiant

Thank you and I have not. Will definatly look into it though and yes Tampa has changed a lot since then. My wife is a teacher and worked on Macdill AF base at the school a couple years ago. They just redid all of the housing on base. It's awesome.

Welcome aboard! If you post your first name and birthday to the Birthdays/Demographics thread, I'll add you to the list. That thread and the Members Profiles thread are usually on the top of the Football Forum but we moved them here to highlight UKFan's (Ceri) Draft analysis. I'll move your thread over to the Profiles thread at some point too.

Welcome Tampa.

If you get a chance can you ask DRC how he views the safety situation.

I'll be in Tampa with Dan and the rest of the crew, hope you can make it.

Let me also welcome you Tampa.

Yes, we accept all people who want to talk serious Giants football, (among other things), from all those 'other' sites out there that have become tempests.       :laugh:You just won't find anything like that over here. Just take a look thru some of our pages, open ANY topic and you will see well thought out posts and only respect for those that post their thoughts. Many of us have been here for years and we have met from time to time. We used to do a great BBQ in Albany when the Giants trained there and many have met thru that. We have a great tailgate group from those that go to games and if you glance down the board, we have people in several areas that try to get to games when the Giants play there and try and organize a group to go. We come in all ages and because of that, many of our philosophies about football differ, but we all seem to get along great.

We try and think of this place as a friendly bar where you can voice your opinion, have a debate with fellow patrons, but always do it in a respectful way.

Anyway, welcome here and hope to see your opinions on may things Giants.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

Thanks guys, it's funny how different things are perceived based on the forum. I would have never posted such personal info on BBI, but I did read a few pages of posts and really like the vibe around here.

As far as DRC and the safety situation. I asked him that the week after Antrell signed with the Bears. DRC was not happy. Rolle was a huge part of him coming to NY but he understands that players leave and things change.

DRC came to New York because in his words, the league knows the Giants are like a big family and he loves Coughlin's structure. He said when he played in Philly it was a joke and the players just did what ever they want. Coughlin holds you accountable and he feels that's important to becoming your best.

also add DRC thinks that Nat could be a very good player for a long time. He also says Cooper Taylor has Natural athleticism and size that all the guys wish they had, but he is not a hard worker and does the minimum.
