Congats to Brian Daboll just named Coach of the Year. Good on ya, Dabbs.

"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."
~ Coach Tom Coughlin

Congratulations are in order for Head Coach Daboll for a tremendous accomplishment in season 2022 in which his award was justly deserved.

His words about his his coaching staff, all support departments and his players trusting the processes he has put in place say it all about his leadership and humility.

Giant Pride was given a shot in the arm, last night, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bill Parcells and Tom Coughlin beamed with pride, as we all did.

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Congrats Coach!  =D>

A well-deserved honor that shows us we have the right guy in place. Let's hope they continue to build in a positive direction.

Well said, Chris.

He restored the pride with his acumen and ability to max out his roster. Well deserved Daboll. :ok:

A well-deserved award, but I got a sense that Daboll wasn't all that thrilled with him being singled out like that. Clearly, a guy that believes in what he preaches in terms of team.

IMO they had no choice after he actually won a playoff game on the road.

No one believed they'd still be in the running in December, let alone get in the playoffs.

When he put the "cherry on top" in Minnesota it could not be denied that his contribution to the results was at least as attributable to him and his coaching staff as it was to his players.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

There is some truth in your speculation, Bob. But by mid-season, most beat writers already predicted it was his award to lose, and a playoff berth would have sealed the deal. A playoff win? Absolutely, a no-brainer!

It is not only that he and Schoen have the tangible results (i.e. W-L and playoff win), it was the manner in which they set the organization up for it to grow into something special as long as they are given the delegation of authority, by the owners, to continue shaping the architecture of the "new-look" Giants.

It is very much the first year, in a multi-year rebuild, for the team. When your architecture passes its design reviews, your product proceeds into engineering and manufacturing development. That's what this past season was all about and pass it, with flying colors, Daboll did.

That he felt uncomfortable accepting the award demonstrates his acceptance that it wasn't all about him; for this, he is correct. But his leadership was evident in helping the team achieve and, for that, he need not feel bashful about standing tall on the carpet, in accepting this award. One day, Joe Schoen will have his moment as the NFL Executive of the Year. By then, the team will have demonstrated the architect, brought in from Western New York State, has realized his mission statement for the Football Giants.

Peace!

This is the second time NYG was able to capitalize on the Charger's mistakes/misfortune.   The Chargers interviewed Daboll the prior season and instead opted to hire Brandon Staley who has been less than impressive.

Then there was Eli Manning...

Is this like the MLB awards in that they are voted on at the end of the regular season?

Rich: Just noticed you changed your "signature line."

I'm referring to the sentence that appears below the line drawn below every post if it's viewed on a PC or Mac.

Change it to "Safe, Reliable & Courteous" so you can work in your spare time as a bus driver! LOL

Bob

PS. You're probably saying, "Huh?" at this point. LOL Haven't taken a bus lately, but back in "olden days" there was an empty holder built into the non-driver-side front wall of every bus (above the window). Each driver had a name plate to put into the holder. Below it were permanently emblazened the words "safe, reliable and courteous."

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!
