SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a vindicated pessimist.

Not slowing my roll

It's sort of funny, the last time this happened, I believe it was the Pats signing two TEs.  Now this time they had the Bears signing two MLBs

This from Spotrac, compare:

Tremaine Edmunds signed a 4 year, $72,000,000 contract with the Chicago Bears, including a $9,750,000 signing bonus, $50,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $18,000,000. In 2023, Edmunds will earn a base salary of $2,400,000, a signing bonus of $9,750,000, a roster bonus of $9,750,000 and a workout bonus of $100,000, while carrying a cap hit of $14,687,500 and a dead cap value of $36,800,000.

Bobby Okereke signed a 4 year, $40,000,000 contract with the New York Giants, including $22,000,000 guaranteed, and an average annual salary of $10,000,000.

Rich, it was a monies crunch. The Giants could afford Okereke but were not willing to meet Edmunds demands. I am happy with the route taken by the Schoen front office. Okereke was a very nice pick up, and the difference between the signings provided the funds to budget the Parris Campbell and/or Darius Slayton signings. Good deal.

Thanks, Brian

I would rather take the less costly option.  I don't think the difference in their costs reflects the difference in their abilities.

100% agree, Rich.

TJ edwards got 3 years 19.5, it's confusing with similar names.

Rosehill Jimmy

I thought Edwards was the player in question, not Edmunds.  How does his contract compare to Bobby O's?

What screwed me up is the Bears signed both of these players.

In the end they outsmarted themselves.

From Simms to Eli (with an assist from Hoss) our Super Bowl Quarterbacks. Great defense and clutch QB performances...NY Giants Championship football.

I have an old profile still floating around: andrew_nyg....I am one and the same!
