The problem with that is nobody knew the health of Pugh early in FA--remember their is a crisis in OL throughout the league and no other team took a swing at him either

Maybe the Giants were already in touch with Pugh throughout the off-season... or...

As a [loyal?] ex-Giant, his responses to inquiries from various teams might have depended on WHO was asking.
