Quote from: TDToomer on January 25, 2024, 09:08:13 AMThere isn't a person on this earth who would just go by passer rating and choose Garoppolo over Allen. Or Lawrence who is also not top 10. Lets be serious.

According to HOF GM Bill Polian, NFL teams still consider and value QB rating.

Look, Josh Allen is a pretty good QB.  However, I don't think he is the slam dunk elite QB some of you believe him to be.  What really dings Allen's QB rating is his penchant for throwing INTs only Sam Howell (21) threw more than Allen's 18 INTs this season.
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

If Allen is not elite what does that say about the Giants QBs? Below average at best.

I think with anything like 'active QBR' rating it's pointless looking at in isolation. As MG the knock on Allan is his INTs but this gunslinger mentality means he's gonna both produce and turn it over. But Allan is far better than 'pretty good'.

Since he entered the league his QBR and overall production is:

2023: 3rd Overall 4306 yards, 29 TDs, 18 Ints, 524 rushing, 15 Tds
2022: 2nd Overall 4283 yards, 35 TDs, 14 Ints, 762 rushing, 7Tds
2021: 6th Overall 4407 yards, 36 TDs, 15 Ints, 763 rushing 6 TDs
2020: 3rd Overall 4544 yards, 37 TDs, 10 ints, 421 rushing, 8 TDs
2019: 24th Overall, 3089 yards, 20 TDs, 9 Ints, 510 rushing, 9 TDs
2018: 24th Overall, 2074 yards, 10 TDs, 12 ints, 631 rushing and 8 TDs

Outside of his first two years, Allan is better than 'pretty good.'

I'd take Josh Allen as the Giants QB in a NY second.

Agree. I'd take him over Watson who was 3rd overall too.

I'm out for a work dinner but Jones' best overall was 6th last season. That point is for comparison purposes only, I'm not bashing him - his other seasons he didn't get near the top ten. Can crunch the data if needs be when I'm home but those are the facts.
