Been watching the Mannings the entire game.  Highly recommend.  Much more entertaining than the football the Giants are playing these days.

Jones is gonna cost $47 million against the cap next year. That's two pro bowl guards and a pro bowl mike worth of cap space. Absolutely reckless and moronic contract considering he's thrown more than 15 touchdowns once in his career. Schoen should lose his job for being that foolish.

We all know Mara loves Jones. You think he wasn't fully in favor of resigning his milquetoast, non-offensive, clean shaven QB who he claimed the Giants had done everything to ruin? Unfortunately it was kind of clear when Jones had a palatable season he was likely coming back.

There was no way coming off last year that John Mara was going to let Schoen allow Jones to walk.

To be fair, they paid more upfront to manufacture a reasonable out in just 2 years. They could draft his replacement next year, and cut DJ the following year at cheaper price than retaining DJ for a 3rd season. Obviously, they had limited faith in his ascension.

He can restructure it if he wants to and spread it out in the future by adding years. But I hope to hell he doesn't do that. We need to take the hit next year and then move on. He should be drafting a QB in this draft and just taking his lumps on Jones. If he spreads that $47mm out, then we're looking at another 5 years minimum before we're relevant again.

Schoen needs to not chase an inside straight draw here and just get out of this as soon as possible. This is QB-loaded draft, and we're clearly headed for the top 10. Schoen won't get another shot like that after this next draft.
