Quote from: kartanoman on Today at 03:43:31 PMBelief from Lavs was a catalyst, no question about it. But also challenging him to play right wing, from time to time, unleashed additional potential and, with that, grew self-confidence that was supported by a strong work ethic which he always had, but we didn't always see.

Things came together for Laffy, as well as a few Ranger players, but the commitment of each individual to sacrifice their "me" for the team's "we" may have been the biggest leap forward yet for these guys. That's what a winner in a head coach, along with his assistants, can do when a team has the talent but now needs to give of themselves to each other for the bigger picture.

I believe that's the difference this year.

Peace!

As ever, I agree. Look at the excitement of having 72 back in morning skates. This is a group of men, as you say together and buying in.

We will see what comes of it, but I'll always be proud of this group - regardless of what happens.

Quote from: Giant Jim on Today at 02:53:10 PMTeam leaders are focused. Panarin is on a mission, Trocheck is right there with him. The coaches (or other players) lit a fire to Lafrenière.

I don't think so. But he worked very hard on his skating and other stuff. Plus he had the belief of the coach - he's not had that before.

I also think the Rangers have been royally disrespected throughout the post season. The Atheltic, who I liked reading, gave them a 34% of winning the series - are you kidding me?

Sky Bet in England had them as 5th favs, priced at 8.50 in decimals (now down to 4.0). And now the favs, owing to the series score.

I'm sure this doesn't go unnoticed to this group (not the England market but the general disrespect).

It was dumb. Nothing more, nothing less. Let's hope he learns from it.

Love these post.

Yes, nothing is won yet but crumbs, what a position to be.

If they don't close it out tomorrow, which I think they will. They will back at MSG.

Canes threw everything at the Rangers and ultimately, they have no answer.

What a run this is turning into. They are special, very, very special.

LGR!

9 to go.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 09, 2024, 04:59:09 PMI'm not really disagreeing, but just as an exercise, and bearing in mind that incoming rookies are clearly a speculative projection in this, which QBs in this list have proven to be decisively worse besides Bryce Young?
Perhaps nobody. But i wouldn't take take Young over Jones.

Perhaps I'm wrong. But he shouldn't be last.

I'm no Jones apologist but dead last is laughable.

I won't even give them a click.

Quote from: londonblue on May 09, 2024, 10:32:18 AMRobinson is nothing like Slayton and vice versa in terms of what they can do. Robinson these days post injuries is a possession receiver not any kind of wide/deep threat.

All true. He doesn't want a new deal either.

Decent move considering the scraps around. I doubt anyone thinks he's a game changer; although Slayton also doesn't fit that idea either.

And I like DS at a certain price point.

Quote from: B1GBLUE on May 09, 2024, 10:02:35 AMPotential replacement for slayton in case that goes south?

That's my view.

I thought Carolina were better but I thought the rangers dominated in pockets and it wouldn't be unfair to say they could have won it in normal time.

Igor and the specials (PK in particular) were great. I thought Wennberg was very good also. I'm pleased for Laf, I do like that kid.

Crumbs, this is a special group. 10 wins to go.

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 07, 2024, 12:44:03 PMSince I ended up making the question a bit complicated, you are saying "yes" the Giants will ride with Jones in the situation I described?

If he's putting top ten numbers. Yes. I can see that.

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 07, 2024, 12:40:54 PMDoes anyone believe if Jones plays like a top 10 QB but the team has a losing season, the Giants will not pursue QB in next year's draft (assuming there is a good one and they are in a realistic position to acquire him).

Yes.

The Bruins provided quite the shock last night.

Would be huge for the NYR to go 2-0 up right now. We are playing with such chemistry a game winner can come from anywhere. If I were predicting, I think the Rangers nick a close one again. I'm hoping Bread can imitate Zib and dominate the game.

Yup. Was a huge win.

Massive shoutout to Wennberg tonight, I thought he was excellent.

Thought Laf played well and Igor was immense. Anderson gave up a softie but he's the type of goalie that has it in him.

A win Tuesday will be huge. Fingers crossed.

Lots to like in P1.

I disagree with PK, I thought DeAngelo deserved two mins for the hit. The world would lose their minds if it were Rempe making that hit.

Didn't like the Mika drop pass where he should have made it 4-1. But he's been electric.

The Refs will make up the missed major on Trochek.
