I cannot wait to hear from our most senior members here at BBH about their feelings on this game, this team, and how they perceive this team as it relates to championship teams of the past.

What a wonderful victory. Can you imagine (after all they have done to us us) how amazing it will be if we can finally hurt the Eagles in their house?

katkavage

I never thought they would lost. The Giants were clearly the better team. So I'm not surprised at all.

Only speaking for myself, it was truly an exciting win, something that has taken a very long time coming. As I said in another thread it is the first time since SB 46 that I truly let out a real yell after a win. Exciting game but just right now, I wouldn't rank it with any of the 'classics'.
I HATE TO INCLUDE THE WORD NASTY< BUT THAT IS PART OF BEING A WINNING FOOTBALL TEAM.

I hate being called a "senior"...unless I'm getting a discount somewhere...LOL. But as I stated in the game thread, "all I've ever wanted was a quality team that was exciting to watch and wasn't an embarrassment", and this team is giving me that in spades. I understand that no team is going to win every game and go to the Super Bowl every year, but at least play with heart, give it your all, and play exciting football for the fans. They have done that this year, and watching the growth of DJ as our QB is an exciting story all its own. But the whole team makes me proud and gives me something worth watching
The joke I told yesterday was so funny that,
apparently, HR wants to hear it tomorrow

Excellent observation regarding Jones "growth"....he seems to have learned how to slow things down. His entire demeanor is different the past few weeks.

This was one of the best performances from the Giants this season; maybe it was the best.

As far as history is concerned, in terms of feeling, this game reminded me of the Giants' big win in Anaheim, CA against the Rams in the 1984 Wild Card game. Both young teams, both with something to prove, both coming off previous disaster seasons, both lost to their opponents in the regular season, both flew home triumphant on Wild Card weekend.

Good times are back for New York Giant football!

Peace!

"Dave Jennings was one of the all-time great Giants. He was a valued member of the Giants family for more than 30 years as a player and a broadcaster, and we were thrilled to include him in our Ring of Honor. We will miss him dearly." (John Mara)

Does remind of the year they lost to the Bears before they won the SB in the following year. You could see the maturation taking place. Still think we are a few players away to be a serious SB contender. Hope they can hold on to Martindale and Kafka--ideally for at least two more years. Liked the way the OL pass blocked today. And I'm totally content with DJ. He was th unofficial MVP of the game.

A year and a week ago, the Giants took QB sneaks on second and third downs against Washington so as to not lose by too much. Absolutely shameful, much more so than the 72-41 loss to Sonny Jerguson and the WFT in 1966. In many ways, this is redemption from last year's embarrassment. Exceeding expectations: that was nice. Making the playoffs: terrific. But winning a playoff game, on the road in Minnesota, that returned respect to the Giants franchise and, to be honest, to myself personally. As a rabid Giants' fan, today is the best I have felt in (almost) eleven years.

Aside from the pleasant surprise which has been this season including the Giants first playoff win in a dozen years, two things occurred to me: one during today's game, the other prompted by your question.

In watching Daniel Jones's performance today, I realized that he is every bit the equal of the Eagles' Jalen Hurts and...

In Brian Daboll, they have found their Bill Parcells and Tom Coughlin.

Cheers!

As another "most senior fan," I'll completely agree with Dan!

Ed Vette

I believe if Judge was the HC with the same team of players they would have won about six games. Daboll, Martindale and Kafka along with their position coaches have done an outstanding job of bringing them along and improving their play individually and as a team.

They have a lot of confidence and are peaking. If they can keep the games close anything is possible. With the exception of the Niners and the Chiefs, I don't think there is a team out there that they can't beat at this point. The improvement from the beginning of the season is impressive and they are healthy.

However this season ends, they have a good starting point for next season. It appears they have their QB and not having to draft or pay a FA brings them along even further.

That said, a lot of luck and risky decisions working out have played a role too. The expectations will be very high next season and they may be a better team but may not have as successful of a season that's to be determined.

Enjoy it. As fans we deserve it but nothing is entitled so temper those expectations.
"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

kat: I don't know about "better team" but I do know about better coaches. This crew is CLEARLY 1st-rate.

Not taking anything away from Vikings young/new head coach. IMO that team's also in good hands (just need a #2 WR).

As Forrest Gump said.... "And that's all I have to say about that."

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

That was the one quote I read before I went to sleep this early morning. And it made me laugh big time. Thanks for that.  ;)
