Not sure if anyone has heard if it but Echo 3 just came out on Amazon and seems to be a blend of Jack Ryan tv show and the Reacher TV show. It's about to special operators who work together and don't really like each other as one marries the other ones sister. The sister then gets kidnapped in Columbia as a scientist and these special operators go to work.

It's a great show, they've only dropped the first 3 episodes and the rest will be weekly releases.

Also just saw the trailer for 1923 the Yellowstone prequel with Harrison Ford and it looks phenomenal.

Thanks for the tip on Echo 3. Right up my alley. Loved the Reacher series with Alan Ritchson (a drifter and former military policeman) that much more closely resembles character and plot of Lee Child's Reacher book series...compared to the Tom Cruise Reacher movies...which are okay, but nothing like the books. In the books, of course, Reacher is 6'6", tough as nails, and doesn't talk a lot. Hard to watch 5'5" Cruise (who talks a lot) as the Reacher I've read about for the last couple of decades. And none of the movies follow a particular story in the books. The Reacher TV series though, follows the book "The Killing Fields" very well

Curious, is there an Echo 1 and Echo 2?

I already plan on watching 1923. Loved Yellowstone, but not going to watch the last season that just came out until I can binge it. 1923 should be very interesting. For me, Yellowstone is about the story and the wild ass daughter who knows no bounds. Interestingly, there is a huge fan base that loves the show for the horses. They have brought in some of the world's best trained horses for the show that showcase their talents. Nice side show. Even I...who don't really love horses (have had three growing up) am in awe of the horses on this show. But really, it's all about John Dutton (Kevin Costner) and his nasty daughter Beth (Kelly Reilly). She had me at walking across the yard butt naked to take a bath in the horse water tank in front of all the hired hands...LOL

Been watching Stitchers on HULU. Thought it would be dumb, but I've binged the first season and half the second already after getting hooked. Unlike most shows, the girls aren't hotter than fire and the guys are nerds. Basically it's thus: a CIA unknown top secret department that has a sophisticated underground lab about an eighth mile under the surface. It's a super lab with a quantum computer and loads of high-tech machinery. The gist of the show is that when a person dies, their memory remains active for 48 hours, but the closer to the time of death, the better the memory and the longer one waits, the memory gets fuzzy then unavailable - so quickness is a given. What the secret organization does in that lab, is to take the dead body (typically a victim of murder), put it in a special glass cabinet-like vessel, then a woman (the main character Kristen - played by Emma Ishta) wears a skin like suit and lays in a tub of water and is mic'd up so she can talk to everyone while being "stitched" (living in the dead person's memory). Once the stitching begins, she takes over the dead person's memory and walks through areas that he remembers. The guy who controls the part of the memory then moves her around to different times in his or her life. She can only survive being stitched for 5 minutes, so they gather as much information as they can about what happened so they can solve a crime. Actually quite interesting

I also binged Warrior Nun, which I liked much more than I thought I would. Doesn't hurt that the main character is played by Portuguese actress, Alba Baptista. Now she is the definition of eye candy. She is not a nun and doesn't like religion or Catholicism, but got stuck in a role after she was murdered. A ring brought her back to life with super powers. I looked her up and was surprised that she is the girlfriend of Captain America and 2022 Peoples magazine, "Sexiest Man Alive" Chris Evans. All I can say is "he has good taste" LOL

No Echo 1 or 2, not sure why it's called echo 3 now other than there are 3 central characters.

Not sure if you've seen it but along the reacher/Ryan genre is " Condor "After a low-level CIA analyst returns from lunch to discover everyone in his office has been killed, he goes on the run trying to elude hit men and uncover the truth about who is behind the murders. Based on the film Three Days of the Condor". It's absolutely phenomenal as well.

I love espionage shows, military shows, and period pieces specifically solving crimes but I work for a film studio so I end up consuming a ton of content from everywhere.

Also Jack Ryan season 3 drops In a few weeks. And if you run out of stuff Epix and BBC just did a collab called Rogue Heroes about how the SAS was formed in WW2 and its a lot of fun but short with only 6 episodes.

I watched a pretty decent movie last night (and today-as I naturally fall asleep mid-way thru yes: )

'King Richard' and it was on HBO. It is the story of Richard Williams the father of Venus and Serena Williams and how he made them into probably the world's best tennis players.
It is mostly from their childhood, thru their teen years, mainly concentrating on Venis and how, this father defied all logic, all-natural instincts, and his overbearing nature, that really made the girls who and what they are today.
Will Smith gives an outstanding performance, one that he hasn't come close to in a very long time, as Richard Williams. Many think of him as a nut job, who defied everything, including all the greats, doing it HIS way, but it all works out in the end. Obviously.

I liked the movie very much and except for some cursing, it is well worth viewing with the entire family.

I have been watching the second season of "White Lotus" and have found it very entertaining. Interestingly so, because I wasn't a big fan of the first season.

I'm also very much enjoying "Yellowstone" and "Tulsa King" right now.

Free HBO Max preview the last few days, so I'm finally all caught up with Curb Your Enthusiasm. Funny show, even though it's both cringe-worthy and predictable.

We are also enjoying the last couple of seasons. This last season really looks like it is stretching everything and doesn't really know where to go. Characters are really over-doing themselves to try and make it funny, but many times it's not. I think we've seen enough of this show and Lassy.

Tulsa King is phenomenal just wished they dropped it all at once.

I can't stand when they drop them week by week. I just wait until the entire season has dropped and then watch.

Maybe a show not for everyone, but my wife and I have watched these series on the History Channel, now 'The Toys That built America'. This is the second season and it portrays how many of our long-lasting toys have become the fixtures they are today.
Just a very light series that we enjoy very much.

We have watched The Food That Built America. which we really like. The Cars That Built America and now the Toys. Last night we watched the story of the guy who invented the Erector Set and how he made it a national treasure. It also included the guy who invented Legos and how that came to America and basically took over the toy market.

We enjoy these bits of Americana and learn something along the way.

Ha yeah I had a discussion about this broad topic with a friend recently. That topic being, do you like it more when shows are weekly or when all the episodes are dumped at once. Personally, I prefer the all-at-once format because it gives me the option to binge if I love something. His argument was that forcing the once a week viewing allows you to savor it more. My point back was if you feel that way, then you can just choose to watch once a week if you want even when they all come out at once, but at least you have the option.

I can't say I am a regular viewer of it, but when I do catch it, I really enjoy "The Toys..."
Interesting to hear the back stories and learn about the people that brought these things to life. So many familiar and forgotten about toys and games that I used to either own, play with or wished I had!

We also finally finished Curb Your Enthusiasm last night. This last season really was a sort of struggle. Several of the 'main' characters weren't there or were just there for a quick shot. Leon has really become a waste, and even Larry has played out his shtick long enough. What was once hilarious has now become normal for him and it really was a stretch for some of the things he got into. I hope they aren't planning another season. It was good while it lasted, but it should have ended a season or two ago.

Watched "Bullet Train". Brad Pitt, minimal appearances by Sandra Bullick (Pitt's "handler") and a cameo by Ryan Reynolds. The first 20 minutes or so didn't make much sense to me, but then it all came together and as for me, I liked it. Some scenes rather gruesome, but it's a thriller wrapped in black comedy. Just came out a couple of days ago on Netflix. I rode one of those bullet trains when I was in Japan and they are amazing pieces of machinery. Smooth, very fast. And they take off on the exact second they are supposed to take off and when stopping, they stop at the exact second and the doors open. Never seen anything like it. The engineers driving them adjust their speed to stop and or go at the exact second that is listed on the schedule

Also watched "Sniper, Rogue Mission" which was pretty good if you like thrillers with a lot of blood and killing as well as a girl who kicks ass. I liked it, but that kind of movie is right up my ally, so there's that...also on Netflix

I am a sucker for several venues of action-type movies. One of them is like the old Vikings type, Roman era types etc. That said, I saw a series on HBO Max 'Rome'
https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0384766/
an older series, but something I never saw, and thought this could be something I would really like.
So I have now finished Season 1 and I find it pretty good. I am looking forward to starting Season 2.

It is decent enough with action and even some light jokes thrown in.

If this is your thing, I would recommend it.
