Quote from: madbadger on Today at 09:53:13 AMHe won't stop chasing a buck until 50% of his former players are dead by the age of 40. With all that we know about the impact of head injuries you'd think that they'd be looking for ways to shorten the season instead of adding more.

I agree. More hits, less time to prepare equals higher risk for injuries and shorter NFL careers. Translate: players want to be paid even more if their futures are at higher risk of being debilitated. More NFLPA grievances against Goodell and his band of billionaires. It's little wonder the romance of the sport has gone the way of the dinosaur. Not even the late Steve Sabol could manufacture a script for NFL Films to cover up how the greed and ultimate lacking for what's best for the players' safety has compromised the sport.

Goodell is completely missing the point. Take care of the players and the current issues, regarding safety, in today's game, first and foremost!

Peace!

I hate the modern NFL. If I was younger and not motivated by nostalgia and tradition I'm sure I'd not be remotely interested.

Exactly, it's all a money grab anymore. The traditions, talent and exposure are all watered down.

Defenses can no longer be dominant like they used to be, and they run through players like Kleenex tissue with the inattention to playing surfaces and recovery time.

18 games? Hell why not make it 20 and put flags on them?! Oh wait, that's what he's pondering!

Do we have a goal line running back?

I don't think in today's NFL there is such a thing as a goal line RB. The days of Csonka and "The Bus" are long gone. Defenses are bigger, faster, and stronger so few RBs can push a line out of the way with brute force...especially when the defense knows it's coming

I think a guy like Jaylen Wright might do as well as any in the draft. He's fast, shifty, strong, and plays with a nasty demeanor and unrivaled intensity. If he sees a crease, he's already trying to thread it

Tackling technique is not picture perfect but his instincts, awareness , quick reaction time and the angles he takes are top notch.

I would have also taken Nabers.

That being said, there's no better collegiate program today from where to invest in an OL than Notre Dame. So IMHO you couldn't really go wrong taking him.

Been binging Nubin tape. I see little wasted motion , instinct and a very sound awareness of route concepts and leveraging. I see a guy who understands spacing, depth and angles to attack both the run and the pass. A guy who could be a day 1 starter.

Then when Saban and then Jeremiah esentially say best safety and not even close it sealed it for me.

Quote from: madbadger on Today at 09:59:26 AMI'm well aware of that. I'm an a University of Wisconsin alum/booster. He graduated high school a year early with the hopes of being Wisconsin's starting strong safety as a freshman. Was converted to running back due to a rash of injuries as a freshman. He played really well and ran hard and then thought it would be a great idea to add 25 pounds to his NFL frame. He hasn't been the same player since often chosing to dance in the hole and getting dropped for no gain instead of picking up four yards.

By the way, I didn't mean to insult you. It was more of a rhetorical question.
