Quote from: Jclayton92 on Today at 10:47:19 AMRich You titled the thread Jones hate among sports pundits and proceeded to list one guy who was talking about Brian burns. Yes he mentioned the qb in a throwaway line but it wasn't hate.
Especially when you consider that the guy in the article talks about the team that the player is going to. Each trade the guy brings up qbs, wrs, tes, and so on for the team the player is going to so Jones wasn't singled out and wasn't the only qb discussed so you're making it into something it absolutely isn't.
Quote from: Philosophers on Today at 09:58:17 AMJMS has not looked like a good center yet as a 2nd round pick. Even if Neal improves, JMS needs a big jump as well.
Quote from: Philosophers on Today at 10:01:40 AMI am not going to focus on all these training moments. Gets way overhyped.
I'll pay attention to more finished products at the end of August.
Quote from: Trench on Today at 10:17:42 AMThe Giants did not target him consistently whatsoever. That's not on him. That's on Jones or the game plan or both.

Quote from: jgrangers2 on Today at 10:31:22 AMThe series has been chippy since game 1. Rempe won't change that and the idea of a deterrent is an old school hockey trope that needs to die. He also can't skate with this team and would be a liability when on the ice. There's a reason he played just 4 minutes of a game that went over 80.
I'd argue that yesterday might have been their best game at evens in this series. If not for some bad early turnovers and a bad penalty late, this series might be over. Also, the Trouba discussion has to happen sooner rather than later. He's been on the ice for something like the last 7 goals against. We could legitimately see a guy get handed the cup by Bettman and bought out a month later.
Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 09:39:10 AMJeff,
It's not like the 2023 disaster of an offense was all on Daniel Jones. Hell, Jones didn't even play in the majority of games. So your quote about "the defense" only highlights this author's obsession with Daniel Jones, as there is plenty to be concerned about on the offensive side of the ball, namely the offensive line.
Edit to add- The Giants got to round 2 of the playoffs with Daniel Jones, so the whole commentary seems disingenuous and only an indication of the Jones hatred that is so pervasive
Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on Today at 03:40:33 AMI thought the Rangers were unlucky last night.
The first two Canes goals came off dreadful D zone turnovers, they then rallied to get back to parity. I thought the refs let a lot more go last night and the Canes got away with a number of penalties - Trocheck was the victim of a double cross check and a then a third as he was on the floor in the 2nd, that one stands out.
Perhaps the Canes took liberties because there was no Rempe. I didn't think Bronzinski added that much, so I'd start Rempe Monday.
Ultimately the Rangers had chances to win but they came up just short. Whilst I didn't expect to win last night, I didn't see anything last night that has me worried. I fully expect Rangers to close on Monday. So much so that once we got the 2nd goal, I was quite relaxed and almost knew the 3rd would come - Igor was locked in and the high volume Canes shooters were being contained.
All in all, 3-1 through 4 is a great place to be.
