It might happen if he's the first read
Supposedly on the local Fox channel instead of Cowboys/Eagles. Here's hoping the channel guide is correct; originally the local feed was Philly/Dallas.
I expect this to go just like the Browns Cards game. Raiders aren't going to score, so Giants win because they have the ball a lot. Kinda the reason Seattle beat us.
20-3 Giants.
And an NFL star is born.
What on earth was that first throw?
Jone's first throw is air-mailed on a short dump-off ball. He better get it together here.
Settle down Jones.
Throw it short of the market on third per usual.
Hyatt was open, all Jones had to do was throw it. Jones is trash
Jones does not look good early.
Awful start.
Evan Neal is the worst.
I got to say, Daboll berating the players is not a good look and not effective.
I guess we're a "get right" opportunity for Jacobs. He has been nowhere all year.
And your QB has been out for weeks and you're paying your RB $10M, so makes sense to ignore him.
Absolutely horrible play calling by Kafka is the reason for that 3 and out.
It was earned on that false start

Na, jones at QB is why the Giants went 3 and out. Missed Barkley, then didn't throw to Hyatt on 2nd down, the. Threw short on 3rd. Jones smh

He had Saquon wide open on first down and airmailed it. Not everything is about playcalling.

Yeah, blaming the OC for that drive is odd; if he hits Barkley on an easy pass, it's 2 and 3.

He had 36 carries last week. That's a brutal amount of carries to now be on the road.
There's a stat IIRC that says any RB that gets 40 in a game literally is never the same again.
Quote from: katkavage on November 05, 2023, 04:43:37 PMJust feed it to Barkley.
$40m/yr QB and we have no faith for him to throw the ball. TT makes that throw to Hyatt.
No clue if we got that
Bs spot
Nope....
That right there could be the game killer
1 for 5 for a total 9 yards so far and extremely lucky he doesn't have a pick.
He needs to get it together or come out of the game.
Why are we the only team that can't convert a Tush Push???
Great start......
Jaysus, we had to take the air out early, we've let them light a fire.
It already feels like a long way back.
Can someone explain why on the push tush, they have little guys pushing Jones instead of big strong OL?
This is going well. What a mess. :boooo:
TT was no world beater, but at least he showed confidence. There was more spark. It's painful and to be honest, not enjoyable watching Jones.
There was no effort whatsoever on the tush push go for it on 4th down....
Lackluster effort all around there.
McKinney can't tackle. Even easy tackles.

There's absolutely no way we should be under 200 yards passing today.
Why doesn't Barkley just cut inside and force a few more yards
Come on!! Hyatt had a step.
Damn the one game Jones is letting it loose, overthrew .... At least he's trying... hopefully one connects
You have to be more accurate than that. Wasn't even close. Hyatt had a step too.
Neal should be sighted for squatting. He just a turnstile. :boooo:

The Eagles use two offensive linemen plus a big back. The Giants had tight ends Bellinger and Cager plus tiny RB Matt Breida. On that play, Bellinger was the only Giant who pushed anybody.
Keep running with Barkley , the. Keep trying Hyatt deep ..it'll connect eventually
That is gonna kill the drive for sure

Eagles also have the NFLs best center and a QB who can literally squat 600 LBs. The Giants have a small center.
DJ tripped by Cager, who is absolutely useless.
Yet another pointless quarter.
Neal like a turnstile out there. He will NEVER be a successful NFL tackle. At this point, I wouldn't even try him at OG. Just move on. He's a bust.

What's even more sad is we're on the hook for $47mm for him next year. So while I'm sorry he is hurt, he will get better, and either way he will still be a pretty well off man with that $81m guarantee no matter what he does. The Giants lose out more than he does.

I don't think the two are related; the knee buckling looked like a traditional non-contact injury. For DJ sake, I hope it's not an ACL/MCL.

Yeah, Schoen's plan for Jones to play 2 years and then cut him with no cap impact blows up if this is an ACL or some other career-altering injury.

It looked like he twisted it on the previous play.
With that said it could easily be one of the two above injuries. Jones is very tough when it comes to pain. I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to stay out there not realizing it was a tear. Hopefully it's just a really bad sprain.
He's walking off the field on his own. Doesn't mean it's not serious but usually on tears they have the cart out.

It pretty much a done deal that the Giants have to find a QB in the off season.
I am NOT beating up on anybody or being a wiseass, but many here talked up DeVito here during the preseason and at the final cutdowns. Now we have a chance to see whether he's got anything. At all.

I am far from a Jones hater but he stinks. Always has. He got a stupid extension after a year that would have been considered very disappointing to any top quarterback. Five years into his career and he has thrown more than 15 touchdowns in a season once. Not all of that is his fault but he is what he is.
The Jones deal has simply set this franchise back years.
The giants and a lot of fans, not all but a lot got drunk on a stripped back game plan, a favourable schedule and middling production. To that end, the Giants guaranteed 40mil a year to a guy that cant stay on the field and when he is on the field, he cannot consistently produce. They could have bridged a QB and built up in other areas of need (which is almost everywhere).
It's an awful deal, with an awful outcome. There's no other way to slice it.
Quote from: katkavage on November 05, 2023, 05:59:26 PMFly a plane around MetLife. The owner is the constant.
Unfortunately, George Young isn't walking through the door.
Mara refused to trade Barkley and wanted Jones to succeed. Neither took place. Time to come to terms with reality..Most qbs dont work out on average. We're stuck with DJ next year but it's TIME to turn the page..now.
Either draft one in 24 or 25..and find the future qb.Jones is broken. Done.
This team was totally unprepared for this game, the defense too. I don't know what happened from last year, but there were many coaching decisions I felt were poor in previous games I was willing to look past, but the play of the entire team so far is inexcusable. People want to get great draft position for a QB, how did the inept Raiders get this guy? Or is the D playing that bad?
Defense done as well total team collapse. Didn't see it coming ...but nothing surprises me with the Giants.

Simple, if Jones hits those early throws to Barkley and Hyatt the game is completely different. Coaching/play calling can't change the fact Jones just missed the plays that presented themselves.
Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on November 05, 2023, 06:03:02 PMThe Jones deal has simply set this franchise back years.
Quarterback Hell.
I'm not going to lie, I'm in a little bit of shock.
I never imagined the defense letting down like this.
I may be done fore the year.

Is it me or is DeVito afraid to throw the ball?

Pierce making a nice initial bid to keep the job. Obviously he'll need to do more than beat on our sorry asses though.

Never be done.
Not for a season, barely for a week.
Odd weeks I'll switch to Redzone, odd weeks I'll go to bed, but this is for better or for worse long-term.
That's why this hurts so bad
Since the Giants are toast I am focusing on other things like why is the sideline reporter wearing a Wonder Woman shirt? That's kind of unprofessional.
Gillan getting workout.
McFadden playing his ass off.
What is it with Thibs and holds not getting called? Rife every week
Meanwhile Davin Tomlinson had 2.5 sacks for the Browns.

Best throw of the day by a Giant QB.
DeVito knows how to slide. Unlike Jones.
Good thing we hung on to Adoree and Barkley. They should be able to help us ideally finish 5-12 instead of 3-13, even if they're not Giants next year.

If the Giants were smart, they would let Devita start every game and finish the season 2-15 and position themselves for a QB; if we get lucky, we draft our CJ, who almost put up 500 passing yards with less offensive talent than we have.
So next week we head into Dallas.
That'll be fun.

Yeah, I'm flying 8000 miles do watch that game. Sigh...
Nice play, Tommy.
DeVito's picks were obviously bad, but he's averaging 10.0 YPA right now FWIW (80 yards on 8 attempts).
Dimes went for 25 yards on 9 attempts.
Robinson could have ordered takeout with all the time he was wide open in the endzone

They are probably playing harder for him. /sarcasm/

Giants WRs have been open all game. giants QBs just can't get them the ball
Great trick  play Kafka
WTF was that 2 try all about?
Holy sh1t
Why does Daboll constantly rip pages from the Eagles playbook?
We don't have their personnel Brian!

Hell, once Tommy gets a week taking 1 reps, it'll be fine.
take THAT!
just scored but felt uncomfortable feeling success so went into emarassment mode ASAP, mission accomplished.
Touchdown Tommy! /sarcasm/
Good by by Devito. Would like to have an extra point kick to see if the new guy can do it.

Robinson wide open on 3rd down.
Nice catch

An NFL receiver needs to hold on to that ball there. He had time to secure it. He was too worried about the hit that he knew was coming.
Hodgins was shocked the ball was coming his way. Then get blown up and dropped it.

Not that it would matter, but I thought we'd might win the second half. Doesn't look like that will happen.

At this rate we'll score below our season average.
When the Raiders are CLOWNING you for 3 hours, you've officially hit rock bottom.
What could Daboll possibly have to say in this press conference.

Another nice game by McFadden. One down, 21 to go.
No prognosis on Jones? Did I miss something?
Evan Neal, Jaysus man a bit of pride.
You look soft as a baby's first sh1te.
Neal down

The giants have some nice young players; if they can find a QB who can actually throw for more than 250 yards a game, a lot will change.

Will be tomorrow.
Now he's injured, get him to fu ck.

Patti Traina is reporting a possible ACL tear.
Giants should trade #1 pick every year for a very good player and a couple of seconds... first rounders never play...

DeVito is doing a nice job now. Nice accurate strikes downfield. Has had a number of them.
Giants on pace to set a record for most sacks given up
Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
A LOT of the sacks given up by the Giants are scheme sacks. Scheme issue by the offensive coaching staff.
Are Giant receivers just not open or do all Giant QBs scared to throw the ball

Open

WRs are open. QBs are trash

Hyatt could have caught 4 TDs today or close to it if the Giants QBs are weren't horrible.

Pretty much spot on but shockingly look worse on offense than with Glennon/Fromm the final half of 2021.
