Yes, of course. I was in too much of a hurry trying to listen while conducting an Easter Egg hunt. Mea culpa.

Cheers!

No worries! Happy reserrection day my friend!

Great job, Brian. Excellent discussion. Is it ever not with Ceri? But no mention of a cornerback to succeed Bradberry opposite Jackson? I hope that will be covered (no pun), indeed will be featured in part 2 as I believe man-cover CBs to be essential to success in Martindale's Defense. I suspect that could well determine the order of priority between Edge and Corner.

Indeed, that may be a forgone conclusion if we consider what Wink has had to say about it in the past: "... my philosophy is - personally - I

Thanks!

With regard to the WR's, while I'd consider Wilson in R1 (after small trade down) and Dotson in R2 those are BPA types, not because I'd target a need at those positions that high. I'd expect to be taking someone at 36 I have in my top 25 fits for NYG at positions we need help (yep, pretty much everywhere!). To me there are far better players on the board at 36 than either Watson or Pickens who will make a more immediate impact. I think both will go in the top 50 but that's too high for my consideration. I also don't think there's a chance either lasts to 67.

As noted with Penning, a pet hate of mine is penalty prone guys on the OL. Absolute drive killers! Smith had 14 pens including 12 holds last year. He's not on my board either.

Got it. That many Penalties are definitely not a positive for eith Penning or Smith. Evsn Neal having so few makes him an even cleaner player in my eyes  . I think I like him over Ikey as well especially for a guy to start here day 1 without too many growing pains.

Love the guys you hit on here because many have either been connected with the Giants or seem like they could be great fits for what they may want to do scheme wise.

Any additional thoughts on Christian Watson and/or George Pickens? I think these 2 may be severely underrated in terms of where they may be picked.

On the OTs also any thoughts on Tyler Smith as well. Some chatter he is going low round 1.

Joe Judge said they will see where Nate Solder is today physically. He's going to get looked at by doctors. He's been having a good camp so far. They don't want to put him at risk.

#Giants #Judge on solder possible sore right arm - will check on him...has some bumps and bruises.....will check with the trainers....checking on a bunch of guys for load management

Joe Judge says he thinks Nate Solder's injury is "nothing much," just normal "bumps & bruises" of training camp. But said he's still getting looked at, and obviously this week is gonna be more about playing younger/back of roster guys than vets like Solder #Giants

#Giants #Judge - likes the work ethic of this team....has a lot of mental toughness....likes they way they respond and compete in practice...loves their spirt and how they always try to improve every

Joe Judge said Elerson Smith and Azeez Ojulari are coming along nicely. There are different loads for different guys. They want to monitor what their bodies have been through. "Everything we do is very planned out."

This new TE Hikutini was really good his senior year and then hurt his knee. It's been four years, so maybe just maybe he's putting it all together now. We'll see.

He's been impressing quite a bit and getting reps with the 1s.

One you are taking a clear action to end a life. The other you are not. You can not definitely say if you are unvaccinated that it will kill someone else but in an abortion you are most definitely without a doubt ending a life.

No we shouldn't judge him yet and he could easily get past all these 'little' things that have come up. We'll see...but he has undoubtedly missed a lot of development /practice time which is unfortunate.

I'm rooting for this kid. Maybe he'll grow through this adversity. Anyone know the Tyree story?

Toney has hit everything but the lottery with his start with the New York Football Giants. Add Kovid to the list

Just so I'm clear, the only thing that Toney has actually done (or not done) that can really be criticized is not showing up for OTAs, right?

Maybe I'm forgetting something. But the cleat thing was not his fault, and if he genuinely had a family emergency (I think it is only fair to believe him unless there is evidence or probable cause that he was lying), then missing some time at work is hardly grounds for criticism. The tweeting and rapping is not a problem until it somehow becomes one.

Am I missing something? This might be a tempest in a teapot...

Its the combination of all them together in short succession . Then one of our coaches making mention of him having to understand quickly what NFL life is all about tell you that he is off to a bit of an inauspicious start.

At this point, I would be happy if Toney shows up to camp attends practice regularly, and shows a good attitude.  Until I see that, I am really not thinking about all the other things the team might be able to do with him.  I might be worrying for nothing, but I really have my concerns.

I remember prior to the draft.   There were many smart people saying this isn't the year to gamble on a prospect because there was only limited opportunities to interact and scout prospects.   I wonder if the Giants made a mistake drafting Toney as he was a prospect that came with character questions.

There was certainly a gamble here but I think they looked at it this way:

-We just scored a 1st round pick next year (which could easily be a top 15 one).
-We wanted a wide receiver to complement what we have and he in theory does that along with being a very high upside guy with his freakish change of direction ability

So in summation they felt at 20 with what they got to move down to 20 it was 'worth' the risk at that point.

Past the 10 minute mark Ceri goes in great details on the options:

Assuming we don't go OL round 1......

Guys with potential NFL versatility:
Leatherwood,Radunz,Eichenburg, Carman, Brady Christian all great candidates for RG (or LG potentially IMO depending on how we shuffle the line)

Guys who are more pure OGs Trey Smith (how is the medical), Meinerz (may be more a power gap guy though but a great option if we go more power gap stuff) doesn't love Brown or Banks (which I agree with , too slow footed)

We are almost in 100% agreement on the guys that are ideal fits here!

Good info on Robert Hainsey. Rob Sale connection and was featured on that Giant next life video on youtube from Giants.com

Sounds like a Giants type pick based at what UK is saying (76 or rd. 4 though).

From the podcast at about 7 minute mark:

Booker came from an offense that ran zone 73% of the time. Hernandez is probably a better zone Guard than power gap Guard. In 2019 when we had Barkley for more of the year we ran zone 63% of the time. Barkley is clearly a zone player. It looks like Booker is probably more suited for Zone as well. There were rumors that Garrett's/Giants intention was to be a heavy outside ZBS with Barkley as our main RB. They switched over to more power gap when Barkley was out and when Lemieux (a better power gap run blocker was forced into action).

All these variables above lead me to believe strongly we will be trying to go back to the outside ZBS scheme next year with Hernandez back as the starter (unless he plays poorly in preseason/camps). Lemiuex as a 5th rounder may be back up OC or OG. Fulton may be better suited to play ZBS though I am unsure. He had an off year last year but that entire team was a dumpster fire. Apparently they really like Murphy too.

As Ceri alluded to the RG needs to be the better pass pro guy (due to more 1 on 1s and shifts of protections) and Hernandez is clearly the better pass pro guy of the 2 of Lemiuex and Will. However is Hernandez good enough at pass pro to also play RG or is he strictly better off at LG? My personal opinion is he may be a bit exposed at RG so we should leave him at LG. Moves Gates over to RG (he is the most athletic of our IOL options and his skillset IMO would fit well there) then have Lemieux as your OC (it would mask his pass pro deficiencies better and highlight his strengths more). Or keep Gates at OC but make sure to draft a high level RG that can compete for the position.

But if you want your line to have the most experience and have players that all have now at least 1 season of NFL action under their belt the ideal line up likely to me is:

LT Thomas/Solder
LG Hernendez
C Lemiuex
RG Gates
RT Peart/Solder

With depth chart kind of looking like:

LT Thomas/Solder
LG Hernendez/Rd3-4 Draft pick
C Lemiuex/Gates/Harrison
RG Gates/Fulton/Murphy/Rd 3-4 Draft pick
RT Peart/Solder
