is it a height thing?  I can see that for some teams/coaches.  but IMO he's the least likely bust in this draft.
#32
IMO he will still be the first WR taken and likely will go 1, 2, 3, or 4.

watched a 2018 Giants eagles game rerun yesterday, and I couldn't even recall many of the players even being on the team, let alone being around for a while.  That was six seasons ago, which I guess proves the nfl really does = not for long.  Of course Eli was QB and Shep was there [and another wr named shepherd too!!!]...strangers mostly on the OL and only a few guys on D who had decent careers.  Most of the players were just filling seats.  Meaning, sadly, we just keep the revolving door going either by bad drafting or letting good players walk [from that 2018 group, we had tomlinson, bj hill and landon collins, who had a great game in that tilt].

age is an issue for most of these FA's....I see us taking a CB in round two [unless we trade way down in rd. 1  - for a boatload of picks or players - and could do so there].
#35
or to get marvin harrison??????????
#36
remember Deonte Banks, too.  we need one more new starting CB unless hawkins lives up to the early 2023 season promise....he was a starter early on.  I'd resign McCloud too.

why trade for a player who will be FA's anyway and you'd have to pay their high salaries AND give up something else to get them?  usually better to wait and use FA.  Before FA there were more trades, because it was basically the only way to pry loose a player you wanted.  Now you just wait for FA.

darnold...hard NO

he came to us after we'd been in the playoffs.  IMO he thought he had a shot at a ring and then saw last year's trainwreck.  IMO he will retire. I wish him and his family well.  He seems like a good guy, but IMO the fire is gone from his hearth.

I voted daniels because there was not an option for NONE.  we have too many other needs and DJ under a huge contract.  There will be qb's in the draft in'25, just in case.
#42
IF mccarthy is qb#4 in this draft, then where does that place him if you are committed to taking the best player available [albeit in a position of some to high need] with pick #6??????????????

that sounds like a real long shot IMO.  I'd go OL or a top 3 WR at pick 6 and look for a backup qb in FA or in round 2.
#43
to paraphrase Jim Mora - - -   Injury?  Injury??  Injury???

isn't that one reason some folks are so down on DJ?
Isn't that why waller has become golloday 2.0??

one ? is how much more it might take to sign a top 5 FA CB compared to what it will take to re-sign jackson.  Then there's how the coaches feel about hawkins, and whether he's going to be a starter or just a reserve.

IMO we need to move back in round one, get draft capital, and use whatever our #1 pick might be, and all the rest in this draft, to start to assemble a solid team.  any qb with our OL is going to be a bust.  we have so many holes to fill on OL, at edge, CB and LB, and later [rds 3-5, at WR, I think moving up and giving away the farm as if we were only one guy away from a SB would be sheer folly.
