A couple of JimV stories...

The Giants had drafted a Receiver back in the day and I liked the kid. His name was Ramses Barden. Well Jim said, "He's a bum, was a bum and always will be a bum.

We had a bet on a steak dinner.

Fast forward to a tailgate on a beautiful Fall day. I buy a dry aged, prime Porterhouse and grill it to perfection and never saw anyone enjoy a steak so much as Jim did that day.

First time I met Jim was at a tailgate with my brother and I think Rich. His first remark was, "Look at all these mustaches!" 😂

Jim would drive down from Maine on game day with family or a friend. This one time we start cleaning up and we're about to begin heading out to the stadium. I tell everyone as I always did to remember to bring your tickets. It was then that Jim realized he left his tickets at home. My brother and I being not too far from home offered our seats to him but then he was able to get his daughter to take a picture of his tickets and they were able to be scanned at the gate. That day, Jim and technology became good friends.

That was you and I that handled the ticket crisis, Ed. I think Rich was also involved. Jim didn't forget the tickets, he brought the wrong tickets, tickets for a different week. I think he was with his son-in-law. We had his daughter email a photo of the tickets, then we walked to will call and spoke with the ticket rep. He told us that the photo would work but, once scanned, it was on into the stadium because once the barcode was hit it was no longer any good. That was back in the day when it was still paper tickets; now it is all scan codes on phones.

I miss him, Man.

Just saw this.  I didn't know him but see he touched many people here.  May he RIP, and condolences to his family.

I just saw this. I knew that Jim was sick but didn't know that he passed away. I remember the Ramses Barden bet and the steak that Jim totally enjoyed, and Dave given a wonderful Peter Lorre impersonation. Lenn is right, Jim's favorite Giant was Gifford. Every time One would mention Gifford in a conversation Jim's eyes would light up.

For a 1 PM game we would begin the tailgate at about 9AM. Jim would come down from Maine which meant that he had to get up real early in the morning to get there at about 10 AM. He would bring down Maine Lobsters for the tailgate which we totally enjoyed.

Jim came over from the Patty Traina site when she had to close it down. Has anyone notified her about Jim passing?

Rest in peace Jim, you were truly respected and loved by the members of this Giant community.

I did reach out to Patti.

Lenn was visiting New Hampshire and he knew Tomeee moved there and sent an email. His wife responded back that he passed away in February of last year.

I had many tailgates with Tomeee, his friends and family. Linda and I had lunch with him and his wife in Piermont one day. We attended a couple of special events at Giants Stadium and the Meadowlands. He also hosted an away game at his house when he lived in Rockland County.

This is tragic and sad. He was too young and had so much to live for.

After losing Jim and now Tomeee, it's important to know that it may be the last time you see them or talk to them and that friendships are precious. Finding friends through the astronomical odds of the Internet almost seems like destiny.

Farewell T.

Wow... that's terrible news. I had no idea. Prayers to his family and friends here. He was definitely someone who kept things positive here on this site. So sad to hear of his passing. God bless him and his family.

I am shocked.  Tommee wasn't that old, and his passing certainly comes as quite a shock.  Tom may you rest in peace and may your family be comforted. :(

RIP.  He had some great posts.

Tom was a lot younger than I and seemingly in good health the last time I saw him.

He was also at the Dumpster Dan road trip to Tampa back a few years and I got to know him well (his dad too).

I wonder if his dad is surviving. He was in decent health so far as I know.

If @Ed Vette sees this and can inquire of Tom's wife, I'd like to know if Tom's dad is still living.

Both were/are Pennsylvanians (near Pittsburgh) & great people as are the vast majority who hail from there.

If Jeff Hostetler could do it, Daniel Jones can do it !!!

I am shocked and so saddened. I never met Tommee and yet I feel I've lost a friend in every other sense of the word.

Thank you, Lenn for learning of his passing and thus giving us the opportunity to express our belated condolences to his family and loved ones.

This is sad news to say the least. Tomeee lived in Yorktown Heights, NY only a few miles from where I lived in Somers NY. When we had group get togethers we would carpool to the event. I got to know his family.  One of his daughters went to school with my niece. I had a small group, Ed and Linda, Tomeee and his wife, and Rich over to my house for a Sunday Barbeque. I really enjoyed his company at the tailgates before a game.

RIP Tomeee we loved you; you will be missed.
