Jalen Mayfield alone is enough to give D Jones some consideration. 0.0 pass-blocking grade vs. Miami.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 02, 2024, 09:27:30 AMI can't help but wonder if the Giants medical staff sent him out there with a partial tear only to see him suffer a full tearIt`s like the beat writers fell asleep this week, certainly with the Evan Neal debacle not even in the rearview mirror yet. It`s a question that should be asked.
Quote from: londonblue on December 31, 2023, 05:40:58 PMHow many foundational players (good age, established or trending upwards) do we have?Bellinger couldn`t block a blitzing DB without holding him. Glad when he`s replaced.
On O:
Thomas
Robinson
Bellinger (despite a bad day)
Hyatt potentially
JMS potentially
Slayton if I really stretch the definition
On D:
Thibodeaux (despite inconsistent effort)
Dex
Okereke
McFadden potentially
Banks
Pinnock potentially
Flott potentially
Barkley, McKinney contract status and under-performing excluded them for me.
It is hard to conclude we are close to being a good team when you apply this lens. We are short of foundational pieces to win both LoS and we are short of explosive playmakers on both sides of the ball. QB may be the biggest hole but it is far from the only one.
Quote from: TDToomer on December 31, 2023, 03:27:08 PMThat was a good end zone pass. The defender just made a great play.Terrible throw - that was a TD.
Quote from: Bob In PA on October 30, 2023, 01:50:36 PMIn another post, @andrew_nyGiants raised the issue that no official spotted the ball before the Jets lined up for the spike with one second left (which sent the game into overtime). The issue has been talked about much. Apparently, the ref only needs to touch the ball on the ground and this is considered a placement, but I`d still like confirmation from the NFL.
Has anyone heard or seen this issue raised or discussed anywhere else?
I have not checked the replay because I loaned my iPad to someone for a few days.

PS. Also is it actually possible to toss a 30-yd pass & spike the ball in 8 seconds? That's what happened.
Quote from: Dumpster Dan on October 16, 2023, 08:28:49 PMIs he hurt or is he that bad>???He had a ZERO pass-blocking score vs. Miami.
