At what speed are you shooting these cars to make it look like they are stationary? I try and shoot moving objects and usually get a bit of a blur especially if I am using a longer lens. Your shots are just perfect.

Thanks, Lenn! I try to shoot at slower shutter speeds to try to show some motion - some blur in the background and wheel/tire spin. The first couple of shots, with the car and Ferris wheel, were shot at 1/160 sec. The third shot, with the Porsche passing the other car, was at 1/40 sec. The daytime shots were at 1/320 sec. I'm panning along with the cars as they approach and shoot several shots as they pass me. The night shots were using a 70-200mm f/2.8 lens, wide open at ISO 800. The daytime shots were with my 100-400mm lens. It takes practice, and the slower the shutter speed the fewer keepers I get.

Great photo Bill! I love the patterns made by the frost. Like you're looking thru the forest!

Going thru this thread I realized that I have some photos of two more stops we made on our cruise. Hopefully this won't bore anyone too badly.
Due to Covid, we didn't leave the ship for a couple of days, but we still got some nice shots I think.

As always great pix Lou. We have never  been to Greece but it is definitely on the bucket list

I can't believe it has been so long since I posted on this thread. I have been traveling all around but I like to edit some of my pics, eliminate some and then see what I have, but I have been so lax at doing this, so this might be the push I need.

Every year, towards the end of January, we go to Cape Cod for a week. Sometimes we have great weather and other times we do not. We love it there at this time of the year, as we relish the solitude of walking on isolated beaches, just driving some of the less traveled roads and every year we try and find something new to explore.

Last year, when we visited there was a nice-sized snowstorm that preceded us but it made for, IMVHO, some great shots which I will post now.

As much as I am amazed at all the fall color in a lot of your pix, Lenn, there is something about winter photos that I just love. Maybe it's because living in Texas we don't get much of the white stuff, or maybe like you said, it all just looks so serene and peaceful, but the snow and ice bring a different dimension and give everything a beautiful look.

At our age, I really could do without any more snow EVER. We do like the cold though (in moderation of course). This year, here in NY we may set a record for not getting any snow an entire winter. We got about an inch the other day and that was the first measurable snowfall this entire winter. This week here it will be in the 50's all week, talk about climate change.

I do love to photograph snow as it makes for some truly remarkable pictures. I'll dig up a few more for you in a day or two.

Last week we had a freeze lasting 3 or 4 days here in Texas. No snow, just freezing rain. Here are a few shot I took in the yard.

Nothing fancy here, just a few pix from our backyard over the past couple of months to keep this thread going...
