The question I have is Wilson was considered a shoe in for HOF two years ago. Is that still the case today? I think the answer is no. Let Russ cook means a qb who is getting benched and cut.

Consider some of the top QBs drafted by teams not prepared to develop a QB
Jags too Trever Lawerence who had one trip the playoffs and Lawerence hasn't lived up to his pre-draft billing
The Chargers took Herbert. One trip (and no wins) to the playoffs, they are even drafting ahead of the Giants this season.
Also it is far too early to tell about what the Panthers did, or if they just drafted a bust.
The Bengals took Burrow and even gave him a few weapons. They made one trip to the Super Bowl (only to lose), and Burrow seems to be hurt more than he is healthy.
You can see the Giants and DJ, you can see the Jets and Zach Wilson/Sam Darnold, you can see the Bears and Justin Fields, I could name more, but I think I made my point
QuoteBy releasing Russell Wilson, the Broncos will take on an NFL-record $85 MILLION in dead cap.
It's the largest dead cap hit in league history—bigger than the previous two records combined. pic.twitter.com/Z64uAk7DCv
— Front Office Sports (@FOS) March 4, 2024
Quote from: MightyGiants on March 05, 2024, 12:05:56 PMBitcoin as a replacement for dollars, is never going to happen. Bitcoin's value is too unstable, it's use less and practical and ways to store it securely (and perhaps earn interest) not ideal.
Bitcoin is a way for people who are looking to break or skirt the law to be a thing.
QuotePeople investing in Bitcoin like they would other no usable assets like Gold will be a thing as long as people wish it to be a thing. I think the difference between crypto and gold is that gold has a limited supply. While Bitcoin or any given cryptocurrency has a theoretical limit, the number of cryptocurrencies doesn't have a limit. The other big difference is that gold does have some real-world value (jewelry and as a material), and it's been valued since man first understood the idea of money. Crypto, on the other hand, has been around for a very short time. If people decide they don't value crypto, its value plummets to zero because it has no intrinsic value and is not backed up by any institution or government.
QuoteFrankly, I think it's silly to ask to be paid in crypto. Just get your check and buy as much crypto as you want.I agree actually. especially if your salary is really a matter of public record. It is going to be pretty tricky to claim 0 on line 10 of your irs form.
Quote from: katkavage on February 28, 2024, 08:52:41 PMNever said Barkley the player was a bust. I hated drafting a running back at 2 and I was right that it was mistake. Eli was a Hall of Fame QB, but they should have rebuilt and moved on when Gettleman took over. Instead they thought they could build around an aging QB. My point was that one good game does not indicate a career. I was referring to Schoen pointing out the win against a mediocre Minnesota team as a breakout for Jones.
Quote from: MightyGiants on February 29, 2024, 08:49:01 AMIs anyone towing the company line over at Jets HQ when it comes to the QB they drafted 2nd overall?
Quote from: katkavage on February 28, 2024, 05:15:45 PMJones had a nice season in 2022. He wasn't asked to do much and with the help of a healthy Barkley had success. Going into the Minnesota game there was no doubt in my mind the Giants were the better team and would win. Minnesota had a terrible defense and a young rookie coach. Jones played well and deserved credit for the win. The following week reality set in. To say that the Minnesota game proves Jones is an above average QB is absolutely ludicrous. I remember Gettleman pointing to a 400 yard passing game by Eli to say he still had something left and justifying the terrible Barkley pick at 2. One game does not make a QB. Let's just hope Schoen is just being diplomatic otherwise we Giant fans are doomed.
Quote from: MightyGiants on February 08, 2024, 03:01:24 PMBetween you and @Fletch, I think @T200 realizes I was correct. Still, here is what I have seen. When good teams draft QBs their success rate is much higher than when bad teams draft a QB. From what I have been seeing when a good team drafts a potential franchise QB, they have about a 75% success rate and even find gems in the later rounds. When a bad team drafts a potential QB they have about a 25% chance of hitting on their QB.
Tiki is spot on. Teams with good coaching, scheme, pass protection, and some weapons for their QB to throw to, have a much easier time developing their prospects into winners than teams where their new QB is running for their lives and desperately looking for open receivers, all with the added pressure of playing from behind.
