PFFs 7 tier rankings of the 32 Qbs projected to start for their team.

TIER 7: THE HOLDOVERS

29. DANIEL JONES, NEW YORK GIANTS

Jones was the third-ranked quarterback in PFF grade on his own team last year — behind Tyrod Taylor and Tommy DeVito. Jones played in just six games in 2023 and was basically either elite or one of the worst-graded quarterbacks in a given week, with no in-between.

He is a good athlete whose rushing production and ability to escape the pocket have always been a big part of his game. But in four of his five years with the Giants, he has finished with more turnover-worthy plays than big-time throws. His average depth of target has also been low over the past three seasons.

Bottom 3rd
22 Russell Wilson
23 Deshaun Watson
24 Anthony Richardson
25 Bryce Young
26 Jacoby Brissett
27 Jayden Daniels
28 Will Levis
30 Aidan O'Connell
31 Sam Darnold
32 Jared Stidham

In Division:
6 Dak Prescott
9 Jalen Hurts
27 Jayden Daniels

Again, I don't agree he should be ranked that low. I have him realistically at 21. Which won't cut it either. His ceiling is 15 or 16.

Jones too low, Prescott way too high.  Does Jerrah get to vote?   :what:

I think they are just going off pff scores from last year more than anything but I could be wrong.

As a Giants fan, I know as much about Jones as anyone outside of 1925 Giants way.  That said, I have no idea how Jones will perform this season.  Between his struggles last season and the ACL recovery there are too many unknowns.  So I have reached the conclusion that trying to rank him at this point, is a meaningless exercise.  Hell, I am not even certain he will be the starting quarterback for all or even part of the season.
SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

All of these guessing-game rankings are meaningless. It's crazy how people get triggered by them.

Ranking shmaking! The only purpose behind the origin of this thread is to hate on Daniel Jones which is as petty as it is obvious. It makes no difference as to where and by whom he is rated when we all know that his future and that of others involved will depend on where he rates at the end of the season by Giants Ownership and Management. Period. Full Stop!

Root against him if you believe that the team will be so much better without him, but it's not a matter of enlightenment as much as that of a mean spirit.

I agree. You don't need a list to know where Jones stands after five years in the league.
