coronation.
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 24, 2024, 02:09:08 PMThere isn't a soul here who doesn't want Neal to succeed (and I understand that you weren't saying otherwise). I think where fans might differ from one another is on the subject of how much rope to give him if he is bad early in the upcoming season.
If it were your decision, how long would you be willing to tolerate more bad play from him before making a change, knowing you have Eleumenor right there and that Eleumenor has already played RT at a demonstrably solid level for an NFL team over a meaningful sample size?
Quote from: EDjohnst1981 on May 24, 2024, 02:26:56 PMYou know there's a quote function, right?
If you're not using it, I think it's rightly assumed you are addressing the Jones "haters".
As such, if you're addressing a wider group and using things like "would you be happy if he wasn't X, Y and Z". It appears you are rating everyone with the same brush as the silly BluesCruz comment - which the vast majority of the Jones critics refrain from.
Just food for thought; I'm not attacking you man and I enjoy your diametrically opposed views to mine and furthermore, I respect them.
Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 24, 2024, 01:57:00 PMSimply making the observation that stuff like this (1) is churned out by every beat writer of every team in the league this time of year and (2) has been proven time and again to have no consistent correlation to anything that happens when the games actually matter is not "getting a head start on criticizing" anyone. It's just making a factually accurate observation.
Further, I didn't tell anyone else how to process this and other info like it. I was simply stating my own stance towards it. I don't see why that needs to be attacked or falsely framed as "getting a head start on criticizing" players. That was not my intention at all.
Quote from: uconnjack8 on May 24, 2024, 01:34:01 PMSome fans have mentioned that Daboll may be calling plays this year and endorsed as his job may be on the line. By the same token, if he feels Neal should be the RT, should he not be given the same approval?
Quote from: uconnjack8 on May 23, 2024, 01:30:58 PMNo, just me being a jackass. The race is at Saratoga this year because Belmont is under construction. The race is going to be 10 furlongs, not the usual 12 furlongs (which is what Secretariat ran).
Quote from: uconnjack8 on May 23, 2024, 06:56:29 AMI bet whoever wins the Belmont this year beats that time by 20 seconds.
Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 21, 2024, 09:07:53 PMHe got overpaid. He's been bottom 3rd analytics wise the past 2 years. The Eagles overpaid for name recognition and what they think he can possibly do with their oline. Because it wasn't for what he's put on the field the past 2 years. His EPA, VOA, and every other offensive metric is ridiculously bad.
Quote from: Doc16LT56 on May 21, 2024, 07:17:58 PMYour obsessive agenda with distorting this team's history aside, this is a thread about Nabers' ability to perform despite the QB quality. It's not a referendum on whether the OL will play as poorly or any better than last season.
They brought in a couple of vets and are hoping for good health from Thomas and growth from JMS. The assumption is the OL will be somewhat better. The question is how Nabers will perform assuming the current QBs play below par. Is he QB proof?
Step away from your canned answers and think about the thread's premise for once.
