I don't care what he does in his free time.  I think its ridiculous he has kept the Giants in limbo this long.  I am sorry he went through or is going through a tough time, but its long past time to make a decision.  I am guessing there is some financial gain for the team if he retires versus being released.

At this point, I suppose any outcome with him not playing for the Giants is a post 6/1.  Am I wrong about that?  If he is released Monday, can it be anything other than post 6/1?  11 million cap savings this year for that.

Not surprised at all on this one and for a variety of reasons.

All I can say is wow

If he is on the field now, even for drills in shorts, seems like he would be ready for camp.

I assume it would be the same for players with school age kids.  Of course school schedules differ geographically.

A lot of attention for a guy that didnt attend a voluntary workout.

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 26, 2024, 06:57:33 AMThis article covers lightest current CBs

Looking at where almost 60% land, that would likely put Flott more than 2 standard deviations from the mean.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 25, 2024, 10:33:54 AMSeems like he's about 7% below the absolute dead bottom of that range, yes.

Dead bottom or lower end of average, say within a couple of standard deviations from the median?

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 24, 2024, 01:45:47 PMCBs are usually in the 190-205 range

So he is like 5-7 percent lighter than that?

Some fans have mentioned that Daboll may be calling plays this year and endorsed as his job may be on the line.  By the same token, if he feels Neal should be the RT, should he not be given the same approval?

Am I crazy or is 180 not really small for a CB?

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 23, 2024, 07:17:43 PMDid Kafka really "create" the offense in 2022?

I assume he had a big hand in it.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on May 23, 2024, 06:14:00 PMDaboll probably should call plays this year. Three reasons for that:

(1) He obviously had some problems with his DC last year. If he's more involved with the offense this year and gives the DC some breathing room to run his unit how he wants to, that will make it less likely that there is another issue.

(2) Daboll's job could be on the line this year. I think it would be a bit extreme to fire the 2022 NFL Head Coach Of the Year in 2024, but it's not impossible. If I'm Daboll, I'm focusing on my main strengths this year, which are designing and implementing an offense.

(3) Kafka has, in two seasons, displayed no clear evidence that he is particularly good in the OC role.

I thought he did an amazing job in 2022 of creating an offense that was nothing like he wanted to coach and had some success.

No, just me being a jackass. The race is at Saratoga this year because Belmont is under construction.  The race is going to be 10 furlongs, not the usual 12 furlongs (which is what Secretariat ran).
