He would be my non-player MVP.

Quote from: Philosophers on May 28, 2024, 06:03:10 PMJess - for a team to be aggressive offensively it takes a coach to trust the offense, a QB with a big play mindset but also trust in the defense to stop the other team if a big play misses causing a punt.

Do we have all that?

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 28, 2024, 04:46:19 PMIn Buffalo Daboll had Allen reaching tops in Explosives, BTTR, and EPA. You add that context to the team we've built, and you can tell he's laying a foundation.
It's a work in progress. On paper, I like how it's shaping up.

As Ed said, let's wait and see how it translates on game day.

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on May 28, 2024, 05:21:55 PMI'm guilty of no longer memorizing phone numbers. But it goes beyond that...autocorrect makes proper spelling irrelevant, and no one can multiply or divide these days without a calculator or being able to write or read cursive. None of my grandchildren can use cursive writing. I tell them all the time, 90 percent of all historical documents written in English is in cursive...how are history students going to be able to research old records???

Autocorrect is my worst enema
I know my wife's and both sons' SSANs, my driver's license number, military ID number, and who knows what other numbers.

Delaware is great for me in the sense that that majority of the license tags are all numbers.

Ric,

Looks like you got up early to try and beat some of the return holiday traffic and got slowed by an accident. Best laid plans, no doubt!

Glad you made it safe and sound.  :ok:

Dumbing down society one technological advance at a time.

I saw something that said at one point in time, the average number sequence most people could remember was seven. I have to believe it's less than that now. Why? Very few people bother to remember a phone number anymore.

I can honestly say there is ONLY one thing on that list that annoys me:

Poor drivers.

None of that other stuff bothers me in the least.

This isn't a political statement: I'm not annoyed by the politicians themselves. I'm annoyed at the collective voters who can't see past party lines to hold all of the people WE voted into office accountable.

Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on May 28, 2024, 11:38:34 AMFor what these players sacrifice, with the greedy owners cap controlling while lengthening the season......the players should take every minute back that they can.

You want mandatory?! Let the owners and their shill (Goodell) open up the coffers, pay these players what they deserve and go back to a 16 game schedule.
I agree 1 billion percent!!! Baseball and basketball have fully-guaranteed contracts. NFL needs to do the same.

I would prefer a longer, mandatory training camp. This optional stuff is ridiculous. Either they want to work to build a cohesive unit or they don't.

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 28, 2024, 09:46:28 AMWhen will the sensor know when a runner's knee or other body part (other than feet or hands) touch the ground?
They won't. But just as they use different camera angles, they can use the video to determine when a body part touched the ground and then use the digital evidence to see where the ball should be placed.

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 25, 2024, 01:41:16 PMThat's what I am thinking, the official still needs to spot the ball.   I can't think of a current technology that could determine where the ball is when the runner is down.   The location of the ball is easy, it's their down part that is the challenge.
Put a chip in the ball and sensors on, around, or above the field.

Glad to see Spags get the recognition as well. Some guys are capped at coordinator and are best at that level. He's one of them.

If the team has a winning record, it will be Jones.

IF the team has a losing record, I'd go with Nabers or Burns.

At this point and going into the season, my focus and concerns are about the offensive line... not Jones.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 22, 2024, 01:59:33 PMYeah I just see it as content to get through the dead season. There are always guys that rise and fall in any given season so it's pointless to predict but makes for an enjoyable read if bored basically.
Yeah, I get it. If these lists were catalogued in the library, I'm sure we'd find them in the "Fiction" or "Fantasy" sections.

Quote from: H-Town G-Fan on May 22, 2024, 10:55:56 AMIt's almost as if there was football played between these pre-season 2023 and 2024 rankings which affected them...
One more presentation of facts like this from you and you'll be facing suspension. Consider yourself warned...
