There are 75 participants in the Giants' rookie minicamp. That includes:

• 6 draft picks

• 8 undrafted free agents

• 5 members of the 90-man roster (RB Dante Miller, WR Dennis Houston, OLB Jeremiah Martin, ILB Dyontae Johnson, ), CB Kaleb Hayes)

• 3 vet tryouts (WR Jafed Bernhardt, OLB Myjai Sanders, OLB Shaka Toney)

• Bernhardt won the award as the nation's best lacrosse player at Maryland in 2021 then transitioned to football.

• Sanders was a third-round pick by the Cardinals in 2022.

• Toney was just reinstated after being suspended for last season for gambling on NFL games during the 2022 season while with the Commanders.
• A ton of rookie tryouts, including Wabash QB Liam Thompson, Northwestern QB Ben Bryant and Princeton QB Blake Stenstrom.

The #Giants make official that two-time Super Bowl winner Chris Snee is now a "senior scout" in the personnel department. The team says he will be "involved in both college and pro scouting."

"I'm super excited about it," Snee said. "I'm a Giant, and I always have been, despite having worn Jaguars clothes for four years when I scouted down there. Everyone knows my heart has always been here. This is where I feel like I belong and where I want to be, and I'm going to come in and work my tail off."

I am confused as to why Nabers is being called out for his bet, but Barkley got a free pass for his bet with Baker Mayfield.  They both made their bets public.  They appear to be for around the same dollar amount.

Baker Mayfield is a man of his word.

The Cleveland Browns quarterback honored his Offensive Rookie of the Year bet with New York Giants running back Saquon Barkley by giving the former Penn State star an iced-out chain paying tribute to Barkley's larger than life quads.

"It's for a chain," Barkley said in February. "The loser's got to get someone else a chain. We get to pick the chain and we get to have fun with it because obviously everyone's talking about who's going to win, and at the end of the day we'd love to see each other win, but we'd also love to see ourselves win too, but we made a little bet with it just to show how friendly we are that it's bigger than just the award."

Barkley ended up receiving the honors and Friday night posted his diamond-encrusted trophy for all to see on Twitter. Mayfield did not reveal how much he paid to commission Barkley's prize.

"It'll say 'Quads' on it, not 'Sa-quads' but just 'Quads,'" Mayfield said in February. "The two extra letters in there cost a little bit extra money, so we'll stick with just 'Quads.'

The chain certainly makes sense, given how massive Barkley's quads are, earning him the appropriate nickname of "Saquad."

Perhaps the next wager could be who finishes with MVP honors first. After all, three letters might be considerably cheaper than five.

Apparently someone that the NFL on CBS with 1.4M Followers considered worthy enough to broadcast his work on Twitter

The Giants reportedly dabbled with replacing their rehabbing investment, whose ball-security issues returned behind a porous line in 2023. Perhaps Malik Nabers can restore his fortunes.

Quote from: AZGiantFan on May 09, 2024, 12:48:48 PMTotally agree.  Not surprised that Florio is one of the ones trying to mountainize this molehill.

Mike has a long history of doing that.  Sometimes, he succeeds, but more often than not, he fails in his efforts.

I listened to Pat Leonard's recent podcast.  He is trying very hard to make this a story.  He cited the comments by the Seahawks GM; he claims to have heard from his own inside sources, and he declared that Daniel Jeremiah is no longer just a draft guru but an NFL insider as well.

He never mentioned that Schoen and Lock himself denied the claims. As a sports journalist, Leonard was required to report all the relevant facts, not cherry-pick them to pursue his self-serving agenda.

I had sort of been warming up to Pat of late, but I am troubled by what I consider his less-than-honest reporting.  I am not even saying Pat had to believe Schoen's or Lock's claims, but it was dishonest not to include them in is reporting.
