The Run Blocking for most of the game was atrocious. However, Barkley also made a few bad decisions and it may be attributed to him favoring that ankle. He did a lot more straight runs with no cuts although he was decisive. That said, just because they stuck with the Run, it paid off later in the game with more yards gained in the 4th quarter.

I didn't concentrate on him the entire game, but Marcus McKethan looked much better in Pass protection even though his PFF grade was in the 50's.

I'm loving Jaylin Hyatt man. He even is a willing blocker downfield on Run Plays and he does it well. I don't know if it was the arm limitation of Tyrod or that he isn't synced with his speed but that one deep throw in double coverage would have been a TD if he led him. I also was impressed with his sense of urgency late in the 4th when he completed a pass for a 1st down and quickly located the official to place the ball for a spike.

If you haven't rewatched the game, there was some pretty good things that Tyrod did or was able to do differently. First of all and I'd like Rich @MightyGiants to look this up, there were a lot of snaps Under Center which set up Play Action. It seems to me that DJ has been taking more Shotgun. There were a lot of plays where there was a fake handoff to one side and TT rolled or moved to the other side. He has a very quick release from the time of decision. He holds the ball low but it's a quick motion and the ball gets to the Receiver quickly. Especially those throws to the Flat where Campbell has been getting slammed after the catch, the DB's were frozen and couldn't jump the route or make a quick tackle on WDR. Tyrod also moved and rolled to the left side several times to read his progressions and he throws very well and accurately on the run. That one pass late in the game to Slayton was a great example of him avoiding the rush and completing the pass downfield. He threw several deep balls and Rich can pick that stat up. Some were defended, some missed their mark and some were penalties. His YPA like Allen's was in the 5's but there was a higher % of passes thrown over 10 yards. 

On Josh Allen, he made an incredible pass for a TD in the 4th quarter escaping a sack twice, moving to his right, and throwing the pass across his body into the end zone. All of the first half and most of the game the Giants coverage was tight and the pressure was on him. I would say this was the best defensive performance by the Giants in years looking away at the Run Defense by the DT/DE's.. Like I said in another thread, Bobby O and McFad complimented each other well too.

From watching the all 22 did it appear to you that Tyrod audibled more than Jones did?

Reason I ask is two fold. Maybe our concerns with Jones not recognizing things pre snap is worse than we thought (assuming he doesn't audible much). And also, the fact Tyrod has been on the bench and certainly rusty (but still audibled is a good sign for him).

But is it another indication of what Jones is?

I wouldn't know for sure but it didn't seem so. I did see him motion his TE on a few plays but there is no sound on the All-22. The key is when he holds his ears and shouts it to both sides. I recall him doing that twice.

I was so impressed with Hyatt's blocking on one of the long Saquon runs, both because he pancaked his guy and even moreso he looked for another guy to block, saw that his back was to him, and instead of clipping him, Hyatt just laid off. I've seen so many flags thrown into that situation

I liked Tyrods game as well,threw some nice long balls in tight spots. The under thrown pass to Hyatt, Tyrod was scrambling and under some pressure to unload.  The time scrambling might also have accounted for Hyatt further down field. 
    As Ritch mentioned in another thread, I like the WR trio of Slayton. Robinson, and Hyatt a lot

Ed: As for Barkley, great observation. It would also explain why they didn't ask him to launch himself over the line on either or both plays from the 1-yard-line.  If the leg was ok that was the ONE run call in both instances that would have made sense to me.

As for McKethan, I like him.  Just a few more games to grab some confidence and learn what to look for on stunts and Glowinski won't be able to get his job back (although that is somewhat irrelevant because with Ezeudu now on IR they MUST have Glowinski at LG, whether as starter or backup.  Once Andrew Thomas returns they'll put Pugh at LG unless they switch Pugh and McKethan.  But IMO, that move is highly unlikely except for the fact that Neal needs all the experience possible next to him - he just doesn't seem to be "getting it" regarding stunts, so maybe having Pugh next to him instead of McKethan will help, which would put McKethan between two veterans (at least until JMS returns).

As for Hyatt, he's simply a really good FOOTBALL PLAYER who does all the coaches ask him to do. Soon (hopefully real soon) his true value will become apparent. Most of the teams we've played so far have very strong CB rosters but that's going to change.

As for Taylor, you've presented the best possible interpretation of what we saw, but I'm still with Rich... he didn't score any points.  Whether we blame it on play-calling, audibles, rust or the Man In The Moon, he not only failed to reach the end zone, he COST the Giants points, so his net result is negative.  I never liked him as a QB and still don't.  He had one really nice year and that was certainly to his credit but also just one of many rabbits coach pulled out of his hat.

I have never really paid attention to this, so I can't give you an answer I would be comfortable with.

Yes, to see the field better and not taking his eyes off the field on the drop back. TT has better feet to set and his head was on a swivel before he called the snap.

What was the % of 10+ yard attempts for this game and for Jones over 5 games? There is that stat.
