Rumor has it. The Giants to wear the 1933 uniforms for a game or two this upcoming season. Personally I dont care for it when teams switch uniforms during the season, but these do look cool.

anything to get the guys to play better !!!!
I'm not a fan of "throwback" uniforms or 3rd jerseys either. I see that as nothing more than a money grab for selling something new to the fans.
I guess I'm more of a traditionalist. I love seeing the Detroit Red Wings and the Montreal Canadiens with the same jerseys they wore since the 40's (or earlier). NY Yankee pinstripes are classic. Teams that keep "updating" their jerseys just never seem to settle into any kind of tradition to me and I think they franchise misses out.
How many different iterations of jerseys have the Jacksonville Jags had already? They've been part of the NFL for a relatively short time and they've already "updated" their logo, used at least 3 different helmet designs and more than once restyled their jersey I think.
And if you're the Tennessee Titan, why in the world do you want to wear Houston Oilers uniforms?
But, to each his own I guess.
Saquon should be glad to not have to wear such an ugly nonsense uniform. They should stick to selling Bib...Oh! that's right, it was someone else.
Cheers!
Larry,
Were those the ones at the Polo Grounds days as a kid watchiing? Haha. Just win. Mel Hein memories no?

I like the gold pants. Blue and gold goes great together and looks great. I don't know when the Giants changed the gold to gray, but it's not a striking IMO. Of course, the gold and red looks too much like the Niners. Perhaps that's the reason they dropped it :-??
Pre tv uniforms...rugby like. I kinda like em. .as casual wear.
Does anybody know of color footage of those Frankie Filchock days? Or of those unis? I've seen pics (no, not with Painter).

Wow. Redskins vs Giants..Can't really see the helmets well enough..Rich.
Thanks.
Well..I'm sure they'll have the red stripe only blue helmet look. Break out those football hockey jerseys! I'd like one. Ha.

College like. Kinda like the Bears throwback helmet. Thanks.
Love it. They should go with those helmets exactly, no face guard.
How did the 1933 team do? If they did good let's wear those darn things all year.

More like throw up jerseys than throw backs.

There's a visibility idea..remember the plastic faceguards? There's little chance of the Giants doing the multi-stripe helmet..I think.

I'm old but no more than the solid red jersey days, spider. That's when you could hardly tell who was who when they played the Chicago Cardinals. It wasn't until they started to televise some home games that they decided that it might be a good idea if one of the teams wore something that looked more like white on b&w tv.
Cheers!

Hell, I'd settle for that this year.

I'm old too, Larry. I can remember the 1966 Giants. That was a harbinger for a generation. Best part were the simple road uniforms with striping.
