There is no single one player who has more influence on the offense than the QB. The fact that they get paid much more than any single other position is not an accident. Obviously, you need a lot more than just a very good QB to win tough games in this league, but no single individual position is more important.

A-Gap pressure is the great equalizer.

I think he's our #2, as well. Hyatt is not at his level yet. Even still, I'm not interested in signing him to a fair-market extension. If he wants to stay a Giant and accept a hometown discount for 2-3 years, I'm fine with that. But I'm not looking to commit a lot of years or dollars to him.

He's a good guy and easy to root for, but those aren't reasons to sign him long term and the kind of stuff that has gotten the Giants in trouble over the years.

Is it really a flash of brilliance if Baker Mayfield, Dak and Jameis Winston are also listed?

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 03:33:08 PMMatt,

You are conflating season stats with what @Uncle Mickey called "flashes of brilliance."

You highlighted DJs 'brilliance', while simultaneously discounting Mitch T own brilliance. The latter was an NFC player on the week and pro bowler in 2018. That's the point; a lot of NFL starters flash brilliance, which is why they're 1 of 32 people in the world to do it.

With the injury rate the Giants suffer, it's good to have quality depth at every position

Quote from: ViewFromSection129 on Today at 03:17:15 PMWe've had next to no mid to late round hits in 15 plus years, which is why we have been stuck in the mud as a franchise.

Honorable mention to victor cruz who was undrafted.
