Again, I don't think anyone has expressed any displeasure that he's healthy and back at it.

The absolute vast majority of this board, myself included, want DJ to succeed - it's going to mean the Giants are good.

I think having a degree apprehension until it's seen in a live regular season game is justified after everything we've been through.

But perhaps I just read it different than you have; if so, both points are view are equally valid.

I hope you're on the mend as well. Look after yourself

Quote from: MightyGiants on Today at 06:38:08 AMA report from a reporter posted a positive report on the starting QB and it's met here with 4 negative replies.   This seems to be in contrast to claims that everyone is rooting for Daniel Jones to succeed.

I read one negative reply and 3 indicating that they've heard/seen this type of stuff before and after 6 years are refusing to get excited in May.

Long way to go but my initial thoughts the morning after are:

1. The rangers were pretty bad/soft/poor yet only 1 goal down until 3 mins to go. They mostly handled everything the Cats threw at them.

2. Florida looks to have far better depth

3. How many calls did the refs miss last night? The standard of officiating has been pretty poor in the post season - the high stick and bloodied nose suffered by Lindgren was particularly egregious.

4. Igor wasn't at his best. You can give a pass for being mostly unsighted for the first but the second was a dreadful error.

5. PP was limb but PK strong.

6. ESPN might offer the worst production of any sport I follow. The commentators are simply dreadful, the camera cut aways to close ups are ill timed.

7. It's game 1 and there's a long way to go. So I'm not going to panic but Friday is absolutely huge.

8. But they have to find a way to spring that forecheck.

So pumped, I couldn't even take a pre-game nap. This is going to be incredibly tough and incredibly tight.

I voted for not caring either way. It's done.

I do think he's going to have a very good year.

Fair enough, if that's his point of view but I think we've learned from last year not to glean anything from the pre-season, let alone OTAs and mini-camp.

ECF final starts Wednesday according to the TNT broadcast. That's a nice rest for the Rangers.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: 2024 schedule

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 17, 2024, 11:34:31 AMThe Falcons would have been tougher had they not used their first-round pick on Penix.  It's not like the team can play two QBs at once.

I truly don't understand this pick. It smacks of a panic but I see no reason for them to panic in that spot. May turn out an okay start but right now, to me at least, it looks bizarre.

Quote from: MightyGiants on May 17, 2024, 11:30:23 AMIf DJ falters, I think Lock gets a shot.  I don't know if I would say the odds are favorable that Lock will prove to be a franchise QB.  That said, I don't think it's out of the realm of possibilities that Lock surprises in a good way.  Lock seemed to come into the league not fully appreciating what it took to be an NFL QB.  Even Lock's father confirmed that.  Lock does seem to appreciate now what it takes.  Combine Lock's natural talent (which is NFL caliber) with a QB whisperer like Daboll, and you never know.

Hard to disagree with any of this, Rich. It's how I see it as well.

Quote from: LennG on May 17, 2024, 01:55:40 PMAnother good thread reverting back to Jones. What is it with everyone, must everything be brought back to be about him?

Same with hearing about the OLine. It's nauseating at this stage.

6-8 wins top is my utterly pointless prediction. Obviously hoping for more and the post-season.

Not a company stooge but doesn't go heavy on the criticism is an oxymoron.

Anyway, I've not read a poster here that doesn't want Jones to succeed.

So I guess his criticism doesn't apply to this community.

I said it earlier this week, it's when you play them.

Who knows what injuries teams will have.

Tbf, that's a tremendous token. Love it.

I'm still buzzing.

Love CK20, always have but as you guys have said - that was one for the ages.
