It looks like the Giants signed Eagles TE Jack Stoll.

What should we make of this?...20 catches....do we read anything into Waller?

I think we all forgot about Bellinger.

Unless they need the Cap Space, I would let him decide. They can cut him anytime if his heart isn't in it.

Meaning?....

My take - Bellinger had a real good rookie year...then we sign a playmaker Waller (and Bellinger is kinda lost)...then last season he bulls up big time and I'm all excited - and he seems to be rarely targeted. Maybe he can be special TE still?

Nice blocking TE

Too bad our RB is awful

I wonder why after Waller was injured that they didn't target Bellinger more. We were all excited after drafting him and he had a decent rookie season as you said. He's a two way TE and although he lacks the athletic ability of a top TE in the field, I thought he would become an important part of the Offense. Apparently bringing in Waller showed they don't see it that way.

Completely insignificant signing. A body. Maybe he makes the team, maybe he doesn't. Won't have any impact on wins and loses if he does.

Cager didn't get a tender offer. Perhaps they want more blocking TE's. Still if Waller stays, who replaces him when he gets hurt.

Still hasn't made an impact in three years as a target.

you would need a qb who can develop chemistry with someone.

Good point. With three QB's there was no continuity and they probably didn't have plays designed for him.

other than tyrod having a full camp I don't see Tommy or DJ doing that with bellinger. People keep saying we need a WR or something else but we need to trade the farm for a Drake Maye so players like bellinger and wandale etc can finally shine

This could be a move instead of Cager.  I had read they were still interested in bringing him back, but that was prior to this signing. Bob

Two different types of TE's. I think they kept Cager last year as a replacement to Waller if he went down as a Pass Catcher. Seems to me that they may be changing how they utilize the TE again. I question if Waller will be on this team in September.

This is the right way to look at it. People keep debating individual players rather than how the players fit together. This is why Gettleman was so bad at his job, he focused on the individual rather than the collective fit. If Schoen doesn't want to fall into the Gettleman trap he will need a QB to make the pieces on offense work.

Ed: Possible, probably likely, although none of the key guys who coach offense have changed. We'll know by whether they keep Cager (or by how high, if at all, they draft a TE). Yes, the Cager move could also indicate anticipated absence of Waller due to retirement (or just being booted out lol). Bob
