You look like you had the same situation as me - I had the last 4 letters after two tries, but still took me four tries to solve. Three possible first letters and I tried all of the possibilities except the right one  ~X(
The joke I told yesterday was so funny that,
apparently, HR wants to hear it tomorrow

Ditto.

Had the last four letters in green on the second guess, got it in four. Same exact thing.

I thought the word was one from last week, otherwise I would have picked it at least 4th.

I did one on the other Wordle site that I almost lost. And I started out soooo good  :ok:

But so many options with the first letter. I thought about going with "NIGHT" or "EIGHT" and even thought "TIGHT", but decided to go with "MIGHT" and didn't lose  #:-S

They have ruined the game by making it a guessing game.

That example wasn't from the original Wordle, but I suppose it could end up being a word on there someday. This is an extreme case where there are 8 correct answers if you get the 4 letters "_IGHT". I don't know how many words have the last four letters the same, but 8 possible first letters as a valid word. But you are right that if that word comes up...it's a guessing game and a streak breaker  ~X(

It happened today and several time recently where there was a guessing of several words to get the answer. There is no skill in that.

I had a thought:

There are generally the same 5 or 6 folks who play daily. We all start with different words and therefore, the path to the correct word is different.

What if we, as a group of regular players, decide on a starting word that we all begin with?

I think that would spice it up a bit. Thoughts???

You are a competitive type aren't you Tim?  =))

That would put us in direct competition with each other. I wouldn't mind trying that if I had a second sign in for Wordle that didn't effect my morning brain wake up call while the coffee is brewing and in which I compete against myself. Like golf (I suck at it) and my partners always want to play "dollar a hole" etc., when for me, I am competing against myself. I know exactly what to do, but getting my body to do what I know it needs to do is my personal challenge. And like many duffers, I hit just enough gorgeous shots to keep coming back to the game and torturing myself. I get filled with confidence after a pretty shot, only to "skull" or "slice" the ball on my next shot  ~X(

Anyway, in short. I am not a particularly competitive person and enjoy most games as a challenge to myself. Now a game of pool, or shuffle board...that's a whole other story. I love to compete in those activities as it is something I'm actually good at. I've played a few games of "cornhole" and I think I could be good at it too, but my buddy who I hang out with on weekends won't play the game with me for no other reason than the name of the game..  =))  =))

Why yes, yes I am! Thank you for noticing!  :P

If you do Wordle on your phone, you can open an alternate browser and it will start a new session.

If you do it on your PC/MAC browser, you can open a window in Incognito/Private mode and it will do the same.

I absolutely LOVE cornhole! There's a league here in Delaware that I'm itching to join. Got to free up some time from other activities first.

Another game I've never tried but am dying to is Pickle Ball. I play tennis and squash (well...used to anyway) but Pickle Ball seems like a game that wouldn't be so tough on my body...as I am no spring chicken anymore  :(
