"He's made some big plays when he's had an opportunity to, in terms of downfield. We threw him a few more this game, came down with some, didn't with others," Daboll said. "Again, I can't say it enough, he's got a long way to go. Hard position to jump right into. He's making strides, but still got a lot to learn and details to clean up."

"There is a greater purpose...that purpose is team. Winning, losing, playing hard, playing well, doing it for each other, winning the right way, winning the right way is a very important thing to me... Championships are won by teams who love one another, who respect one another, and play for and support one another."

Not surprising, as he still has to learn the nuances of the position and the various routes/coverages. But with that said, until then he can still fill a big need for this team by drawing attention on deep routes, making some plays, and helping to free up other receivers. I've also been impressed, so far, with his ability and willingness to block downfield.

SMART, TOUGH, DEPENDABLE

Given the almost always very complimentary way coaches usually talk about players, I wouldn't exactly call this the most effusive feedback I have ever heard.

He's probably tired of them asking why isn't he getting more targets and reps.

There's an easy solution to that problem....throw your best WR the ball.  Regularly.

Kafka and Daboll don't seem to be on the same page. Their statements are very different.

Daboll's statement comes across as, "Nice job getting an 'A' on your test. Too bad it wasn't an 'A+'. You have lots of improvement to do."

Hyatt and Wandale are easily the two best Wrs on the roster in my opinion. Not sure why Robinson isn't getting ever slot rep and Hyatt every boundary rep.

I agree. They're the two who can make the most things happen, with Waller being the obvious big man in the middle. They should both be getting more work.

Actually, I like that they are bringing him along and making him a better version of himself. It will pay off in the long run. Same with WonDale. Odell had moves, speed and hands but he only ran Slants and Go Routes. The fame got to his head before he matured. Killed his career.

Was that what killed his career, or was it in fact all the injuries? He was ridiculously good in 2014-2016, basically right out of the gates as a Giant, until he started frequently getting hurt. I feel like things went south after the injuries became such an issue. He was cocky right from the get-go, but he was one of the best two or three receivers in the league (if not the best) during that early period.

His ego and posse killed his career. Too much success too soon. TC never reigned him in.

Do coaches over think things when it comes to.WRs
Puka is doing awesome and he was a 5th round pick
Jordan addison is doing awesome
Q johnson on the chargers is he even playing anymore

This is coach speak. It is how Daboll talks about most players. They are clearly high on high. His snap share keeps going up.
