The NFL Players Association told the Denver Broncos in a November letter that their threat to bench quarterback Russell Wilson if he refused to alter an injury guarantee in his contract was illegal, violated the CBA and could result in legal action against the team, a league source confirmed to The Athletic.

The letter, sent by a law firm on behalf of the NFLPA and first reported by the Washington Post, said that if the Broncos "follow through on the Club's threat, the Club will violate, among other things, the Collective Bargaining Agreement, Mr. Wilson's Player Contract and New York law."

The letter added that Wilson and the NFLPA "reasonably anticipate arbitration and/or litigation against the Broncos."

The Broncos did not bench Wilson in the aftermath of the meeting about his contract. The 35-year-old veteran started the next seven games, the last of which was a 26-23 loss to the New England Patriots on Christmas Eve that put Denver's playoff hopes in peril.

On Wednesday, the team announced Stidham would start the final two games. Coach Sean Payton, who said Friday he was "not privy" to discussions about Wilson's contract between the quarterback and the team, said the decision was made solely for football reasons after a four-game stretch in which the Broncos went 1-3 and Wilson's play declined.

Nice of the Giants to keep the tradition of collecting nickel corners while ignoring the boundary.

Throw for 4000+ yrds
27 tds
9 interceptions
Also.not because we were down by 30.and the defense just let daniel jones get garbage yrds
Its just that hr played better than he ever did in his whole life
We go 10-7 and miss the playoffs
Or
We got.to the conference final and miss going to the superbowl.by a missed fieldgoal.but
D Jones is a game manager but a very good one at that

What are his numbers as a game manager? I would need to know those before I can answer the question.

Not to mince words, he is unbelievably mediocre. He can hold up for a series here or there and on a good day only get medium roasted if forced to start but he's a floor setter not ceiling raiser for the DB group. His best snaps last year (when he rotated through three teams) were actually at safety!

The New York Giants today signed free agent defensive back David Long Jr., who is entering his sixth season in the NFL.
Long, 5-11 and 196 pounds, was originally a third-round draft choice by the Rams in 2019. He spent his first four seasons with Los Angeles before playing for three teams (Raiders, Panthers, and Packers) in 2023.
Overall, Long has appeared in 66 regular-season games with 12 starts. His career numbers include 97 tackles, eight passes defensed, and an interception. He has also played in six postseason games with one start, which occurred in the Rams' victory over the Bengals in Super Bowl LVI.
