True to the name, these were put together from what we actually wore in the 1920s and 30s. If Mel Hein, Benny Friedman and Tuffy Leemans wore elements of these uniforms, I sure don't have a problem with them. Roll on Big Blue!  <:-P

Ed: Right. It's the ceiling that prompted the Giants to try to draft him (assuming that is the player they would have drafted if the Pats had agreed to the trade offer, assuming there WAS such an offer). Bob

That's a good set of predictions IF... the Jones deniers turn out to be correct.

If we instead view Jones as a veteran QB who's back is to the wall, the Giants should split the pair against the Eagles and the pair against the Cowboys, in which case 9-9 would probably turn out to be good for a playoff spot.

It's all about beating the Eagles and Cowboys and hoping for a bit of good luck (for a change) regarding injuries not only to the Giants, but also the opponents' injury situations.

Bob

PS. We're likely a "middling" team at best, but I see chance to win in Seattle as well as against Indy and Cincy.

Quote from: Ed Vette on May 16, 2024, 09:53:33 PM"He (Nix) had two or three down-the-field throws today. It's almost like watching a good golfer. Sometimes when you watch his game over two years, there's a patience to how he plays. The ball comes out, and—I don't want to use the term 'boring,' that's not the right term, but [he makes] pretty good decisions. With each play, the efficiency of how he's operating, and all of that."

"Former Denver Broncos head coach Vic Fangio is a big baseball fan, and he pulled out a baseball analogy during Drew Lock's rookie training camp to paint a picture of where Lock was at when he was in his first NFL camp coming out of Missouri:

"I don't think he's far along being a ready NFL quarterback as he could have been. That's what I mean when he's got to get ready. He's not a quarterback yet. He's a hard throwing pitcher that doesn't know how to pitch yet, so the faster he gets that the better off he'll be and we'll be."

Meanwhile, early reports out of NE on Drake Maye, are not glowing. He's got a lot of work to do.

Lol, everyone!

I come on here, read all these crazy a$$ posts of all of you, and I'm glad that I decided to watch the game with appreciation of the talent of both teams for the full 60 minutes and more, if needed. I feel rewarded for taking in what was a heavyweight boxing title matchup, TKO in the 13th round.

Even at 1-3, I felt they were going to come back because of two things: Carolina kept hitting the iron and Igor kept getting better as the game went on. Eventually, the tides would turn on the other end. Eventually, they did but I never would have guessed that Kreider would have pulled a Messier on us! A magnificent performance and a timely return of the Rangers we've come to love this season.

For Carolina, the ride is over. When the camera focused on that poor crying little boy, I couldn't help but feel terrible for him. I remember being him once when the Isles put one past Glen Hanlon in the deciding game of the 1983-84 opening round of the Playoffs, in overtime, no less.

So, the oddsmakers didn't get it right by picking the Canes to win it all. They weren't counting on what the Rangers had in store this year.

So we can all exhale now and watch tomorrow night's Boston - Florida match with interest.

Meanwhile, Edmonton just drew first blood in their Game Six against Vancouver which is where I'm hanging out the rest of the evening.

Goodnight, all!

Peace!

Sometimes I wonder if Rangers fans have actually watched this team all season.  They won 55 games for a reason and have not had a long losing streak all season.
