This is a good article about how the autopsy of Secretariat revealed a source of his greatness.  At a time when the average thoroughbred's heart weighed 8.5 pounds, Secretariat's heart weighed 22 pounds, and the size was healthy, not due to some pathology.

Really wish Flightline would have run in the triple crown races last year.  He is no Secretariat, but he might have looked like it against a pretty pedestrian 3 year old class.
