Nine-time Pro-Bowl QB and former Super-Bowl champ Russell Wilson plans to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers, per league sources. Wilson will sign a team-friendly, one-year deal in which the Broncos will wind up paying $38 million of his salary while Wilson wears the black and yellow.
---
This confirms to me we will be trading up for a QB or *sigh taking JJ At 6.
The Giants were never interested in Wilson; so, I fail to see how this deal impacts our draft strategy.

Agree
It's really no great loss. Wilson seems shot.
This title seems a little unnecessary.

No, we desperately need a QB. great title OP
Which team is trading down that will put the Giants in position to draft one of the top 3 QBs?
Wilson is clearly on the downside of his career. He's the desperate one. Getting a lifeline from the Steelers is not surprising, but will he be able to phone a friend when he gets there later? :D

Except the opposite end of the spectrum, Joe; BC would still be trying to convince everyone that DJ is a #1 WR away from being Patrick Mahomes. The title of the thread is absurd; Pitt signing Wilson has absolutely nothing to do with Jones.

I think it could be a good signing for the Steelers. They have a very good defense and need competent QB play to think about contending. I think Wilson has declined somewhat, but can still be solid with enough around him.
Personally, if I were him, I would have been looking to go back to the NFC where he would still be near the top in terms of QBs. In the AFC he's not even in the conversation for top 5. I will also say I think it will be interesting to see how he meshes with Tomlin. He doesn't seem like a guy that is going to let the QB have his own office and think he is above the rest of the team. Maybe that lesson was learned for Russ, but Denver's willingness to eat 85 million in dead money makes me wonder.

Hello,
I agree with you that the thread title is not called for.
However, no one here has said that DJ is a #1 WR from being Patrick Mahomes, that is a bit extreme. However, what has been stated, is if you give him a better O line with a #1 WR we can see marked improvement, compared to last year and a possible winning record. Which would seem to be better than settling for a watered-down version of the top 3 QB's in the draft, but that decision is ultimately up to the Giants and not for us to decide.

Pittsburgh is a solid organization. I suspect they know what they're doing.

You are confusing BF with BC, BF was ride or die Jones, BC is ride or die the Davis Webb, Usain Bolt, and Gary Brightwell trio.

The new Johnny One Note.
Anyone remember that guy who flooded the board with posts about the magnificence of John Jerry and how he was the best guard in the league? I'm beginning to get that feeling again with some of this....
The Giants could very well draft a quarterback this year. They could also choose to roll with Jones again. I won't presume to know because I'm not Joe Schoen. The presumption and insistence illustrated lately here that we have to take a quarterback is beyond tiresome. We could literally be talking about the opening of free agency but instead we'd rather continue to argue about whether or not Daniel Jones is the future at QB, despite the fact that we really have no say in the matter.
Reports coming out that the Gianrs were waiting on Wilson to call them back and he never did signing with the steelers.

Looks like you have a fan club.
Denver was never a good fit for Wilson, but I truly believe he will excel with the Steelers. Tomlion will develop a game plan for him to succeed and all this talk of him being done will be sill come next season. Just put him in the right scenario to succeed and he will help that team immensely.

Me neither. When Seattle re-signed him to big money I said that was the end of the Seahawks.

Please don't blame me for your actions. You're responsible for your posting. You have accused many posters of being something they aren't. You're using the "f" word to describe a player, and you filter a hate for a player on every thread and make it about yourself.
