My feelings on Slayton are identical to Saquon. I'm fine bringing him back on team-friendly terms but am not interested in committing to him long term or at full-market rates.

Slayton has been consistent, sure, but he's still a #3 WR on a good team, and he's not someone I'm looking to spend big money on. The team needs a true #1 and to carve out reps for Hyatt and Wan'dale.

I say let Slayton play out his contract and let him test the FA waters after the season.

Big Blue Huddle / Take your pick

Which draft would you prefer?

6. JJ McCarthy, QB, Mich.
47. Cooper Beebe, OG, K. St.
70. Tez Walker, WR, UNC

6. Malik Nabers, WR, LSU
47. Braden Fiske, DL, Fla. St.
70. Khyree Jackson, CB, Ore.

Big Blue Huddle / J.K. Dobbins

He's been cleared for football activities.

Typically I'm against signing guys with recent injury history, but he's someone I'd be willing to roll the dice on. Still only 25 and has averaged 5.8 ypc in his career.

I'd be down with a low base salary, high incentive contract for him over a couple of years. Think he'd make for a great complement to Singletary.

Big Blue Huddle / Giants sign Jalen Mills

Not a difference maker, but Mills provides veteran depth in the secondary. And a 1-year contract, which I like.

CB remains the biggest hole, to date.

Big Blue Huddle / WRs at the combine
March 03, 2024, 06:11:55 AM
Some really strong performances from the second tier of WRs at the combine is going to make for an interesting back half of the first round and offer some compelling choices in the 2nd in the event the Giants don't select Nabers or Odunze.

Guys like McConkey, Thomas, Worthy, and Mitchell really helped themselves, with the first 3, perhaps, pushing themselves into the first round. I really like Mitchell, as well, so wouldn't surprise me to see him go earlier than expected.

That means guys like Coleman and Franklin - 2 guys from big time programs originally projected to go higher - will likely fall into the 2nd. Not sure I'm high on either. But not sure that the next tier - Legette, Corley, Polk - makes it to them in the 3rd.

Giants will have to make some tough choices if they don't go WR at #6.

Big Blue Huddle / Overrated Alabama prospects

I'm not interested in any of these guys - Turner, Latham, McKinstry, Arnold. They've all been non-existent in this game.

And still not interested in McCarthy. He's been solid, but I don't see him wing successful in the NFL.

Big Blue Huddle / NGT: Ivan Pace Jr.

I remember some on the board pounding the table for Pace ahead of and during the draft.

The fact that he went undrafted and is now the 2nd highest rated LB in the league is crazy:

Even after MM's career game last week, sure would be nice to have a young guy with upside in a position that's been bereft of real talent for a decade.
