After all the chatter and speculation watch them draft Bowers lol

I don't think he will be there when the Giants draft, but I wouldn't be upset if they somehow got him.  Yeah yeah yeah he didn't throw a lot based on the Michigan offense BUT he was the best third down QB in the country and he has a strong arm, and he is used to pressure and COMING THROUGH.  All of it is academic because he will be gone before pick 6 and the Giants don't have the draft capital to go get him.

I am on record as not being a Jones fan BUT how often does a team have a shot at getting a real IMPACT player (of which the Giants have very few)??? So unless something really weird happens, take Nabors or Odunze at 6. both of whom have a real shot at being legit IMPACT players, more so than any of the QB's which are always a crap shoot.(ask the 49ers)

I like McCarthy better than Maye. Maye makes too many questionable throws.  McCarthy played big games and adapted to the system as he was asked.  Harbaugh loves him. I respect Harbaugh. Yeah I'd move up.

All I know is that when I watch Jones I frequently ask  what was he looking at or what was he thinking?  The key work there is frequently ...since everyone one makes mistakes but he is more consistent with it.  He makes me yell at my TV set more than anyone.

The Giants have to do the painful work.  The playoffs in '22 were a mirage.  Soft loser schedule and a TON of good luck.  Last year harder schedule and no luck and look what happened.  They need to get better at 9 spots on offense and 7 spots on defense. They are not one or two star players away from Super Bowl contention.  So build through the draft, stop gap with more "reasonable" FA's to bide time, and keep on building.

Jones is the QB this year.  Money talks.  That said Jones is to blame for his performance.  I re-watched the Houston/Giants game from 2022 on NFL network. It again highlighted the puzzling decisions he sometimes makes.  Down a TD in the 4th quarter, ball around the 10, he drops back, not much pressure, looks ONE way only and throws the ball right to the defender for a pick.  I have now ideas what he was looking at to throw that pass. Maybe it was a timing route but it wasn't open at all so throw it anyway?     That is what is wrong with Jones.

I agree the OL stunk.  That said, I watched games where folks were open at 3 Mississippi and the QB didn't throw it.  So yeah the line stunk and so did the QB.

Lots of needs all over the place but I can see them drafting a corner in the 2nd or 3rd round.

What was the Giants defense ranked last year?  27th?  28th?  You want to pay a guy 15-17 million on that defense? Spend the money elsewhere.

Also the Giants just hired the D coordinator from Tennessee...worst ranked pass defense last year.  The beat goes on, the beat goes on...la de da de de....

JS has a perfect out if he drafts a QB.  Jones injury history.  Jones will start when healthy, the young QB can watch and develop and if next season is another stinker with Jones at QB, they can move on.  I personally think letting a young guy sit a year isn't terrible.  I know financial considerations drive these "start right away" decisions but I think sitting for a year or part of a year to see the big picture and learn is in the better long term interest of the team.

Didn't Wink have similar issues with John Harbaugh?
