Big Blue Huddle / O-line
March 14, 2024, 10:17:30 AM
Has Schoen fixed the Oline ?

LT - Thomas
LG - Ezuedu, McKetthan
C - Schmitz
RG - Runyan
RT - Evans, Eluemunor

Because if he lost Barkley and hasn't fixed this line expect another terrible offense.

Quote from: MightyGiants on February 22, 2024, 10:57:15 AMI will add this:

What will help the team more?

A $10+ million dollar Barkley

A $10 vet guard plus a near vet minimum running back

My answer is a $10+ million dollar Barkley.

Quote from: MightyGiants on January 02, 2024, 09:25:35 AMIs it me, or does Barkley seem to come up short in critical situations?   I know it's a bit of a simplification, but great players come up big in big situations.  Yet, I seem to remember more failed plays in key moments with Barkley than I remember successful ones.

Do I remember things correctly?

When the game is on the line Barkley is the man you want getting the ball.  Problem is every DC knows that, so either give it to him or use him as decoy.

Nobody on the Giants is more clutch.

Quote from: Dumpster Dan on December 15, 2023, 05:27:25 PMSorry  I should have been more specific--I think Leek has a typo   I think the Panthers would have to upset Atlanta to have his scenario work out

I get the point though   its amazing that the Giants are NOT mathematically eliminated yet--and damn well do have a chance--Huge game this weekend  but win Sunday and then they would need to win two out of three--a very very very tall order   UNLESS the Eagles play their scrubs last game of the year..  To take it further--If the Giants win vs the Saints and lose to the Rams  it is over--doesnt matter what happens in the last game

Remember Jimmy I had the same math training as you did   LOL!!!!

Why do you think I have a hard time talking about next years draft when this season isnt over yet??

Dan

Thanks Dan, you are correct, I fixed it.

Believe it or not Giants could be in a playoff spot this weekend.

That is ESPNS playoff machine.
Set the following for week 15:
1) Giants over Saints
2) Commanders over Rams
3) Eagles over Seahawks
4) Panthers over Falcons (corrected)
5) Bucs over Packers

The rest of the games don't matter.  If the above 5 things happen Giants are in the 7th seed!

That's crazy!  But being realistic, even if the above happened Giants still face the Eagles twice and the Rams... tough road but they would control their own destiny.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on December 07, 2023, 09:34:21 PMEven if we swap in Tyreek for Tyree, I'm still not getting the thrust of the OP.

We have a bunch of scrubs, who, in total, have more yards than a single superstar player on another team.

What's the point exactly?

I guess we have this option:   /sarcasm/  for a reason.  LOL.

Giants top 4 receiving threats don't add up to Tyreek Hill (not Tyree), that shows how bad our passing really is.

Tyree = 1421 yards receiving

435 (Slayton) + 384 (Waller) + 330 (Hyatt) + Robinson (265) = 1435 yards

Giants are stacked at WR, unless you think Tyree is no good, beating him by 14 yards!

Big Blue Huddle / Re: next year Vets - stay or go

Quote from: JT39 on November 13, 2023, 10:12:17 AMForget contracts and 1st and 2nd year players. What should the team do with the following players:

Barkley - let him go. Good player, but constantly hurt and not the difference maker we thought he would be.

Barkl;ey is a talented player, a hard worker, and a team player, makes everyone around him better.
He also still has several good years left in him.

I never understand the under appreciation he gets from Giants fans.  Yeah he has had injuries, but he is a RB and gets a lot of touches.
He's the type of guy you want on a your team.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Dallas laying it on

Quote from: LennG on November 13, 2023, 12:40:56 PMJust curious as to what others think about the way Dallas played this game, even when it was out of reach. Like having their second-string QB come in and basically continue the onslaught?

Even the announcers, who, I felt were so biased for Dallas, as they were basically swooning with anything that Dallas did, commented that as a rule of competition, you don't continue to score points when the game is so completely out of hand.

We all know McCarthy is a jerk, was he showing off for Jerrah?

I would say what goes around comes around, but in reality, we never  do this to anyone, even in our good eyars.

This is not something we can complain about.
It is something we can remember.

Quote from: MightyGiants on November 02, 2023, 09:43:55 AMWith the proviso that there isn't a single correct way to "be a fan", how do you feel about wins and losses for the last nine games?

I haven't thrown in the towel on the season yet.  Still holding on to a glimmer of hope they can somehow get the last wild card spot.  I think it is way to early to think this is not possible.

No I'm not delusional, mathematically they are still alive... if the math shows they are eliminated I will have no choice but to accept the reality of the situation.  So as things stand right now Go Giants!

I don
Quote from: Bob In PA on October 19, 2023, 08:48:32 AMRich: It sure doesn't help that our most experienced pass rusher hardly ever plays any games.

I can't see how the Giants can/will keep him around much longer.  Too bad.  He's a good player.

Was wondering (but too lazy to check) if his brother is as injury-prone. He DOES have a brother in NFL, doesn't he?  Or is this a senior moment for me?  LOL

Bob

I don't see him on the injury list this week.  Not even limited.  Hope he plays.
