Is Neal deaf in his left ear?  Could that be why he is slow off the snap?

The RB group may not appear impressive but I think it will be as good as the passing game allows.

It's a pass 1st offense now and that will either put the defense further back from the LOS and allow 4 easy yards on a draw or allow the defense to play close to the line and be in the backfield quickly.

I said 7 or 8.  For me it's all about whether the offense will be significantly improved or not.

The defense will be improved if the offense is.

Quote from: Jclayton92 on April 28, 2024, 09:57:37 AMI listed 1 guy yes, but you can ask a ton of guys here, there are a ton of examples of players on the line leaving and playing exceptional elsewhere that couldn't do anything here.

Not sure if he was exceptional,  but Hernandez was at least solid as a starting guard for one of the best running offenses in the NFL last year.

Quote from: andrew_nyGiants on April 27, 2024, 03:27:51 PMI disagree.

Marketed ad nauseam world-wide, over exposed and over played...yes.

Popular? Not to any true fan who actually care about the players.

It's become the 21st Century version of the Gladiators (no not the tv show, the real thing).

Show some true care and concern for the players post career and stop trying to play 6 days per week 23 weeks of the year, and regain the respect of the fans.

Are you of the opinion that before Goodell, the NFL "cared" about players more?  Or were more safety conscious?

Quote from: Jolly Blue Giant on April 27, 2024, 02:57:06 PMProbably not. They plan on having another Iron Curtain for the next decade. Picking up Payton Wilson will be an exciting player to watch. They are going to fall in love with him

Is there new ownership in Pittsburgh that's communist?

Like the pick.  He should add a dimension in the red zone.  Plays both aspects of the position

Quote from: TONKA56 on April 27, 2024, 09:02:50 AMWhy is everyone so obsessed with trading Slayton?

Because he said he wants more money and skipped a voluntary workout.

I think his stretch the field ability makes him a decent piece of an offense.  Ita not an accident he's been among league leaders in yards/reception pretty much every year.

Regardless, I don't understand the infatuation with trading him.

Pretty much knew this was coming when they went to 17 games.

I do like the idea of a Holiday weekend Super Bowl.

Would like to see Wiley in the 4th.

Yes it's amazing they put how prospects receive television signals in a scouting report.  Definitely a red flag he doesnt use streaming.

Quote from: TONKA56 on April 27, 2024, 05:39:42 AMI believe we may be looking to the 2026 draft and will tread water until then.

If they are treading water for the next 2 years, do you think Daboll is still around for the new QB?

Quote from: madbadger on April 26, 2024, 09:53:19 PMI don't get it. Coming into the draft the defense was clearly better than the offense and we chose to use three of our first four picks to add to the defense. I guess they're just lanning on winning games 14-10. Not knocking adding Burns, Nubin or Phillips. Just doesn't make sense to me.

I am surprised by using all 3 2nd day picks on defense as well.   Thought one of them would be an offensive player.  I like the picks they made but I still found it surprising they are all on one side of the ball.

Hopefully they are able to grab a TE who can contribute on day 3.

Quote from: madbadger on April 26, 2024, 11:53:21 AMMy whole premise is that you want to build the offense to the point that you can go all in on a quarterback in 2025 and have the pieces around him to maximize his chances of success. The starting line currently looks like Thomas-Runyan-JMS-Eluemuno—Neal. After that we have no quality depth and Neal has been awful. If Neal doesn't improve quickly I could see the Giants benching him and kicking Eluemuno outside and opening a need for someone who is better than Ezudu at guard.

I understand in doing that you lose the chance to draft a starting corner but you hope that between Thibs, Dex, Burns and Okereke that you can create enough pressure to protect Banks, Flott and Hawkins. Not a perfect solution but at the end of the day there are no silver bullets available.

I don't disagree and love Powers-Johson.  I think he could turn a position into a strength rather than an adequate player. Right now there is still a bunch of question marks outside of Thomas

Just not sure that Schoen and company will prioritize IOL over some other needs. I assume they have some confidence in the guys they signed.
