Big Blue Huddle / Re: Injury Report

Speaking of Parris Campbell, he has taken a lot of flack for lack of production.  It seems like all his routes are short and towards the sideline and there is usually a defender nearby.  How come the never send him out on deeper routes? Is it his route running ability?

Yeah, He should get his own place. He will do much better with the ladies. Not everyone knows that in traditional Italian families, the children are expected to live with the parents until they get married.

Now if the parents were raised in Italy, the pull is much stronger. I came to America from Italy with my parents in 1956. They were definitely old world.  In 1975 I was a senior in college. We were sitting at the dinner table one day and I started to share my future plans after graduation.  I said I want to find a good job and get my own apartment.  As soon as I said apartment, they started yelling at me. My father raised his hand like he was going to slap me.

To them getting an apartment is a complete waste of money. People who live in apartments are "bums" that don't have ambition, just want to have a good time and don't want to grow up.

By the way, my mother's chicken cutlets were excellent but her beef cutlets were even better.

I know Robinson is small but when I see him on the field, he looks like a high school player size-wise. I hope he can take a hit.

The Front Porch / Do you like your mattress?
November 24, 2023, 01:52:34 PM
I'm in the market for a new mattress. So many choices. There is 100% memory foam, hybrid memory foam, traditional box spring with memory foam topper, traditional box spring, sleep number.

There are plenty of reviews online but nothing beats personal experiences of people you know.

What do you sleep on and why do you like/ dislike it?

Great news, Lenn!

If your next grandchild is a boy, may I suggest the name Martin. That way you can tell people your grandchildren are Rowan and Martin. You can have a Laugh In.

Quote from: LennG on November 18, 2023, 08:12:11 PMFor many years Spider Lockheart was my favorite Giants player. Don't know why but I was always hooked on defensive backs, going from  Jimmy Patton to Erich Barnes to Lockhart.

Same here, Lenn. I also liked Scott Eaton and Willie Williams.

Quote from: beaugestus on November 19, 2023, 04:33:14 AMWhat page??

Are you on Facebook? If so you can do a search for it. Click on the magnifying glass at the top of the page and type The NY Giants; Spider Lockhart, Ron Johnson Years. That should bring up a link to that page.

The above is a Facebook page I came across. 4,000 members and old pictures of guys like Joe Morrison. I even saw a post by former Giant, Dave Tipton. I thought I would share this for anyone interested in checking it out.

There is a new restaurant called Karma. They don't give you a menu. You only get what you deserve.😆

Quote from: Sem on November 12, 2023, 11:31:32 AMI wrapped up the 4 part series last night. While "Encounters" didn't blow me away with anything new I did still enjoy it. What was interesting to me was, unlike a Betty and Barney type story, each episode focused on an event or series of events that were witnessed by dozens, sometimes hundreds, of people.
Additional props for the use of the underappreciated 70's Klaatu song, "Calling Occupants of Interplanetary Craft" during the third episode. (Klaatu was also the name of alien in the '50s sci-fi classic movie, "The Day the Earth Stood Still."

Klaatu barada nicto! I can never forget that line.

What I liked about Encounters are the large number of eye witnesses for the sightings in Texas, an African school and a British school.

What did sound hoaky was the alleged message given to the African students about caring for the earth. But then again maybe the alien's plan is to slowly get humans more comfortable and ready for contact in the future.

I'm not 100% convinced of alien life on earth. I want solid proof.

Just curious. How good was QB Jerry Goldstein? He was a very late draft pick that was once a frontrunner to win a starting job for the Giants. I think he had some success with Tampa Bay.

I'm in, Ed! I also invested in a company that makes telegraph equipment. The telegraph will make a come back. Mark my words! Haha

Did anyone see Encounters on Netflix? It's a four part documentary about people who witnessed UFO's. Interesting stuff.

A year and a half ago a friend talked me into investing money in a Bitcoin mining company. He was convinced the website and company was legit so I invested $3,000 into it.  The dividends were credited to my account for a while but then they went dark. I was unable to withdraw any of my money before it was too late.

No crypto for me ever again.
