If the Chargers are going with Harbaugh (clearly uncertain at this point but I keep reading they're talking), then I don't know how much of a platform Brown would have there as GM. Harbaugh is clearly a larger than life, face of the franchise type guy and I'm not sure a first time GM like Brown would have command of the room in meetings or even be Harbaugh's equal.

I hope he gets the job though. It's inevitable that he'll get a GM job at some point, and if we're going to lose him, the sooner the better IMO as we have to wait a full year to even get the first of the two third rounders.

It used to be, but I figure at this point Bill Belichick last worked for the Giants last century while Giants Assistant GM, Brandon Brown, is a current employee  :D

It's beginning to look like Harbough is the new HC of the Chargers.

There appears to be some sort of ties between BB and Harbaugh even if the two never worked together, at least according to this article

I think this hire makes sense on both sides, actually.

Harbaugh, who apparently likes California living, gets a blank canvas except that he has a 25 year old QB who has a lot of talent. There is plenty of work to be done on the roster, but Harbaugh has exhibited a clear ability to build previously struggling programs into winners at both the college and pro level. And with a franchise caliber QB already in place, the hardest part of that process is out of the way already.

The Chargers, who were becoming the LA football version of the NY Islanders (no offense to Islanders fans), get a larger-than-life football personality to not only take over their program but to bring some swagger to it.

As I see it, this move makes sense on both sides, assuming it happens.
