I guess I am the lazy one today. Took me about 10 minutes to arrange something that made any sense out of the few letters I had.

I feel the goal should be three or less.

Took over an hour. Finally got it by eliminating a few letters on the 5th try.

That's kinda how I think about it as well. When I get it in 4, it's "meh", 5 or 6 and it's a brain-dead moment, unless it's a really tough one that no one gets in less than 4 or 5 tries. Three's are good, twos are bragging rights

Not thrilled with the way I attacked this one today but not one of the easier ones.

two is often luck.

I really struggled with this one. I knew the 3 middle letterz went thru so many combos but never tried the z as the last letter. If this idea is to get the brain working this one did it for me.

Maybe for you. Most os the time I put my regular 3 words and if I get it in 4 Im happy, 5 is ok and 6 is a Thank God.
Why do you feel we should be able to always get it in 3?

Like I just told Ed, why should I be so upset if I get it in 5 or 6. I am happy to extend a streak and relieved I get some of them like today. Some days you just see things a bit different but the whole idea is to get the brain working.
I Like the idea of explaining the though process especially when I see someone who has 1 yellow and then all of a sudden gets the word with the next guess.

I think you'll find that if you just put in two words and then try to figure the word out, you will get many more threes and less fours. Sometimes I don't use a second word based on what I get on the first word. That's the goal for me but half the time a second word is required.
