Quote from: Brooklyn Dave on September 18, 2024, 10:13:43 PMIf I am not mistaken , isn't Mechci Becton who was a bust as a tackle with the Jets , now a starting guard on the Eagles?

Yep. And apparently playing quite well at Right Guard.

Big Blue Huddle / Re: Snap Counts
September 09, 2024, 11:59:15 AM
Because it was game one, could it be that Dex's conditioning isn't at mid season level yet? If so that could explain the relatively low snap count, and why it should increase going forward.

Quote from: T200 on August 26, 2024, 04:44:54 PMWhat's Lock's health status? Will he be ready to go for the start of the season? If they put him on the PUP to start the season, does that free a roster spot for DeVito?
If he's cleared he'll make the final 53, (barring an upgrade / cut pickup). If he's not ready he can't go on the PUP, he can go on IR-DFR.

Quote from: kartanoman on August 26, 2024, 11:18:14 AMHi Steve - I'm glad it accomplished its intended purpose!

For the contributions I make, which oftentimes extend far longer than they should, due to the passion I have for the Giants, there remains that side of me that's quick to throw a hint of comic or silliness on the side for levity and a smile.

Whenever a period of downtime on the weekend I steal the remote from my wife, turn on her Netflix and shamelessly watch the "Flying Circus" every now and then. Ah, the memories!

Peace!
Python is indeed timeless.

@kartanoman that Monty Python reference brought a smile to my face this morning. I think on 4th down this season I'll be thinking about a dead parrot, types of cheeses and silly arguments, if only for a second or two.

Quote from: DaveBrown74 on August 25, 2024, 06:47:44 PMAgreed. We have a history of not only overrating our own talent but also clinging to bad decisions and believing non-performers will suddenly turn it around. We did it with Will Hernandez. We did it with Lorenzo Carter. We've been doing it with Jones. And now we may do it with Neal.

It does seem that way, but with the turnover in coaches and GM's over the past bunch of years why is it?

Not great, but not as bad as I first thought. The sack he gave up on the speed rush was horrendous though.

Agree all around.

Quote from: LennG on August 22, 2024, 05:06:18 PM...anyway, now that I got this off my chest, anyone else believe in Bigfoot?

I just saw one Tuesday at my son's house in Minnesota.  ;)

But seriously, I'm with you Len. Seems impossible after all this time not to have any proof of their existence if there actually was such a species.

Quote from: Ed Vette on August 21, 2024, 08:50:40 PMKevin (RH) teaches guitar and has performed and written his own music. He's been a good friend over the years. You would like each other I think.
Ed, any idea why Kevin isn't posting anymore? I always enjoyed his cool-headed, well reasoned thoughts on Giants football as well as his non-football views on a range of topics, including guitar playing. Met him a couple times at PS camp in Albany, always enjoyed talking with him. @Jolly Blue Giant Ric, I agree with Ed, you'd enjoy interacting with him.

Yeah Rick, that was me. I've gotten behind on his books and still need to finish Razor Girl, and have yet to read Bad Monkey. Of all networks...I'm not an Apple TV subscriber. Damn.

I'll have to come back later to this thread to read the questions and answers, so don't wait for me. I'm up early to drive to the airport, I'll be traveling/out of town for the next week with limited online access.

That's fine Ed. It'll take me longer than a week to find more gems like these.  ;)

In Ancient Rome there were basically 4 types of poisons. Poisons I II & III would kill you quickly.
Poison IV would just make you itchy.

A friend purchased two goldfish.
I said "what do you call them?"
He said "one and two"
I replied "those are strange names"
He said "not really, if one dies I still have two."

What do you call babies born in a whore house?
Brothel sprouts.

I went to the "World's tiniest wind turbine" exhibit.
Honestly, not a big fan.

I didn't do a marathon in 2020. I didn't do any in 2021, 2022, and 2023 either.
It's a running joke.

A guy bought two horses but he couldn't tell them apart so he decided to measure them. He found that the white horse was three inches taller than the black horse.

I was in the card section of the store the other day to find a nice "Get Better Soon" card for my tennis partner.
He's not sick.
I just hope he gets better. Soon.

I always promise to have just 2 beers and be home by 10.
Then my dyslexia kicks in.

The day after his wife disappeared in a kayaking accident, an Anchorage man answered his door to find two grim-faced Alaska State Troopers.
"We're sorry Mr. Wilkens, but we have some information about your wife," said one trooper...
"Tell me! Did you find her?" Wilkens shouted.
The troopers looked at each other. One said, "We have some bad news, some good news, and some really great news. Which do you want to hear first?"
Fearing the worst, an ashen Mr. Wilkens said, "Give me the bad news first."
The trooper said, "I'm sorry to tell you, sir, but this morning we found your wife's body in Kachemak Bay."
"Oh my God!" exclaimed Wilkens. Swallowing hard, he asked, "What's the good news?"
The trooper continued, "When we pulled her up, she had 12 twenty-five pound king crabs and 6 good-size Dungeness crabs clinging to her and we feel you are entitled to a share in the catch."
Stunned, Mr. Wilkens demanded, "If that's the good news, what's the great news?"
The trooper said, "We're going to pull her up again tomorrow."
