I understand Ibanez is the first player in MLB history to hit a HR during the first 9 innings and a 2nd in extra innings in the playoffs.   That sort of surprised me.

As far as Fox taking over the Rivals site I hadn't noticed any big change at bbwc but last week I went to The Ranch to see what the cowpukes fans had to say about their miserable game on Monday night.   I couldn't recognize the site.  It was listed as part of Fox and was no wheres near up to date.   I didn't know any of the posters and the ones that were there just bitched about the site, little or nothing about their team.

Drake my boy.   Thanks.   I enjoyed that.   But I would make 1 major change.   I would put my Jamestown Jammers logo right at the top of the list.   A demonic looking mad bunch of grapes wearing a ball cap and a bat.   eeeekkkkkkk

OK baseball fans,   Wild Card games start Friday with Baltimore @ Texas and StL @ Atlanta.   Any thoughts or comments???

Being a Yankee fan I was very happy to see them win another AL East flag.   But it wasn't easy.   My kudos to Baltimore.   I never expected to see them hang in as long as they did.   I always thought going into August that they would fade and be the birds of old.   

I would be surprised if the Yanks do make it to the WS.   I just don't think they have the pitching to get them through a tough short series.   If they are to be successful I think their offense will have to explode and carry them.   
                                                                                                                                                                     
What would you think of a Beltway WS???

The Yankees beat the Twins Monday night while Baltimore split a DH with Toronto extending the Yankees lead to 1 1/2 games over the birds.  This was the first time since Sept 2 that they had a lead larger then 1 game. This was the 2nd longest streak in baseball history where a team had a 1 game or less lead over another team.   The longest streak was in 1897.   

Blockbuster trade with the Dodgers.   If the lousy season hasn't been enough to push the Sox fans off the bridge this trade just might.l

GT:   Well said.   One of the guys I work with is a huge Red Sox fan and he of course hates the Yankees.  But he has never said a bad word about Jeter. 

As I was reading this thread I had a flashback of the Seinfeld episode where Steinbrenner was yelling Ken Phelps, Ken Phelps, Ken Phelps.

And of course GO brings up that trade.     Brought a smile to my face.   At least I got something out of that trade.

OK all you baseball fans.   What do you think.   Washington is to shut Strasburg down even though it could cost them a trip to the World Series.
