Quote from: Jclayton92 on May 07, 2024, 07:41:01 PMIs there really that big of a difference in the 28th vs the 32nd to you?

I understand you were trying to make a point that somehow there was a huge difference in the 28th vs 32nd but there isn't, not enough to jump the stats that much. Even if you want to say they have better wrs which they do, Lock still attacked down the field while Jones did not.

For what it's worth, the Giants gave up 20 more sacks than the 31st place team. It could be argued that there was a giant chasm between the Giants OL and the 28th ranked line.

Let's see what Daboll does with Lock. I don't know if he's ever had a good shot or good coaching at the NFL level before.

I guess this is a thing. While I mostly think it's a stunt, I wonder if there's any actual application to winning in the trenches by studying sumo techniques.

Remember last year when everyone ignored the Eagles' losing both their OC and DC and predicted a repeated trip to the Super Bowl? The Cowboys lost their very talented DC this past offseason (along with a number of veteran starters). Those sorts of losses tend to go under the radar but are often the most impactful.

They replaced Dan Quinn with Mike Zimmer who is probably just as good a DC.

Quote from: nb587 on May 03, 2024, 04:48:41 PMBingo.  It's scary what the Giants would have been like if George Young never came.  And, Wellington would never have hired him if he wasn't forced to.

The Detroit Lions, that's what we would've been.

I think the team is headed in the right direction - but I think next year's schedule is tough and the Giants might have a worse record and another very high pick.

To answer the OP - not necessarily. Who's to say these QBs would be good here?

Trading for Eli looked bad at first when SD got Shawne Merriman as part of the deal. After a couple of years, Merriman's just a footnote.

I don't get why he's annoyed, the Cowboys traded down and unfortunately for us, still got what looks like a decent LT.

Quote from: H-Town G-Fan on April 25, 2024, 09:19:57 PMAgreed. If the Giants don't steal some wins with Devito and pick top-3, the Giants are taking a QB. This doesn't signal confidence in DJ. It's a plan for when they move on from him.

It doesn't mean we aren't taking a QB at all - there are more rounds to go. Who knows ...

Quote from: madbadger on April 25, 2024, 09:23:42 PMShadeur Sanders, Quinn Ewers and Cam Ward had seasons equal to Maye this year, and all three were better than Daniels was as a junior. None of the three would be considered a flash in the pan.

I don't think the Giants are on the list of approved teams for Shedeur Sanders, but the other two could be interesting. And who knows, we've seen guys come from nowhere to jump to the top of the draft - like Daniels just now.

Bo Nix will be gone by #14 I'm guessing.

Quote from: killarich on April 25, 2024, 09:15:08 PMWere the Jets really a threat to pick a QB ? Why would Minny do this

Maybe someone else was making an offer to the Jets.

Guess this means JJ McCarthy will go to the Vikings at 11.
