Quote from: ViewFromSection129 on March 19, 2024, 10:20:18 AMI don't get Neal at all.  He was considered as close to a sure thing as there was.  Not necessarily to be a superstar, but to at least be a very good tackle.  And he came from a top school.  Something is amiss here.

Could be as simple as lacking the mental discipline for the NFL, he abandons his technique when under duress.

Or it could be poor coaching, Bobby Johnson was horrible and has been horrible for the majority of his career.

Or it could be the scheme, I have read Daboll asks Olineman to use a mix of zone and man:man blocking that can be very hard for certain players to implement.

Either way the guy is a mess on the field more than not

As they showed the first replay of Lindgren going down, I instantly thought of the Potvin hit on Ulf Nilsson as the Rangers started looking toward the 79 playoffs.

An otherwise hit of no regard leaving the ranger flat on the ice only to be helped off

Glad the news was so good.

The upcoming three game tilt is off the charts.

I am excited to see how the team matches up, even with missing Lindgren and Trouba.

Give Eleumenor the starting caliber reps at Rt, it is his job to lose.  That will either trigger something within Neal and hopefully get him working toward the right road under the guidance of Bricillo and if that is not an option that it sets the stage for the move to guard.

Neal has not earned the right to anything other than the opportunity to compete for a job.

It would be a mistake to give Neal any kind of edge on any depth chart associated with the Oline.

Quote from: gregf on March 18, 2024, 01:04:54 PMI see Neal taking 50% snaps at starting RT with the new guy we signed from Raiders the other 50%. Neal will get plenty of snaps at guard too. If the competition at RT is close, I could see Neals youth and draft slot giving him an edge. But if he is clearly outplayed, he gets to compete to compete for a starting guard spot. I'd love to see him earn a starting spot purely on merit

If the competition is close at RT than the front office didn't address the Oline adequately and the season is done anyway.

Neal needs to move to guard because it's his last hope and there is no way Schoen can enter into the 2024-25 season with Neal penciled in anywhere on the line yet alone Tackle.

It is interesting what hills some people find themselves on and decide today is a nice day to die.

Wish we could have gotten a pick for him, other than that the contract is way too rich for what he brings to the table., Unless he steps up.

I wish him nothing but the best.

At least he didn't sign with the Eagles.

Quote from: Gmo11 on March 05, 2024, 06:59:45 AMI don't know that 3rd goal game winner sure seemed stoppable to me. Granted it went through the legs of Trouba but from damn near the blue line and it wasn't moving particularly fast.  Shesty played fine outside of that but it looked like his brain was rebooting as the shot was coming towards him cause he just froze and watched it go right past him.
It's unfortunate after the February he had that a poor played shot, one mistake by Igor was enough to turn the tide in the game.

Otherwise a very good game

My boys were at our rink from 3-9 last night and I got to stay home and watch last nights game with the misses. So right out of the gate i was thrilled and the game didn't disappoint.

Stars were coming off a back to back nights with the Bruins so I was hoping the rangers would jump out earlier and Fox took care of that. Kakko's game winner beating Wedgewood upper corner inside post was real nice.

Igor was aggressive exploding at the puck on some of those big shots and the puck luck was with him at the right time as well.  Hearing those Igor chants multiple times through the game was awesome and boy oh boy did he earn it. Especially in the third period when he doubled down on his effort and put on a spectacle. Damn near 1/2 his saves had to of been in the 3rd.

Igor simply stole the game from the Stars. That being said the Rangers could not receive a sauce pass on a multitude of 2:1 situations and while they didn't get many shots on Wedgewood, opportunities were missed.

Side Note- Rangers offense has really started to turn in on over the past 8 games scoring 3 or more goals 6 of the last 8 games.

Pulling the boys from school and headed to Chicago for some deep dish and the Blackhawks Flyers Game tonight

Rangers Devils on Thursday !

Quote from: ozzie on February 12, 2024, 01:40:35 PMPlaying, coaching, spectating or hustling kids back and forth?
Depends on the kid, the team and the year I guess

First and foremost I'm always driving .

This year for fall/winter hockey I spectate for high school,
I coach Bantam.

I'm not coaching spring hockey this year ...
2 boys on 3-4 spring/summer  teams = living in hotels on weekends April into June . Last year it was too much with Middle School Baseball

I spend most nights and certainly all Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in hockey rinks

I bailed on hockey at 2pm yesterday and enjoyed the Super Bowl from 45 minutes before kickoff to the end

I enjoyed it all

Jone is due 69 million dollars until he is cut and has zero market, none.

The O line needs to develop and gel (been waiting 13 years )

Jones will get the opportunity to prove he is a franchise QB and try to convince the Giants not to cut him after 2024/25 season(not likely), Jones can try to create a market for himself for his next stop and or the Giants simply use the 2024/25 season as a year for the line to develop while the new QB learns the system and he doesn't  have to take the beating that accompanies the O-Line transition process.

Devito offers no value to the Giants organization.  He was a great story, a distraction during miserable times but no real future.

The Giants are so screwed up we do not know if the players are the problem , the coaches are the problem or both .

That being said I will argue O line working under a competent coach .

Ild assume we need a RT and Guard but I'm not sure who is to blame for the failures

Should have been traded last season prior to trade deadline, and then again this year.

Letting picks walk away is a missed opportunity, especially for a team rebuilding.

721 quarterbacks have played atleast one game in the NFL during the Super Bowl Era, 34 have won a Super Bowl

That's where I rank Hos

The giants are an organization with the worst record in the NFC over the past decade

Their two coordinators are rumored as being unhappy and one left walking away from 3 mill to do so, while one is being forced to stay

Oh yea,  And they fired the Special Teams Coordinator

The head coach is considered on the hot seat and very honestly might have 1 season left

All that is going on while Bill Belichek is stating the organizational structure is a mess and coaches should stay away

The giants top two DC candidates Have turned them down

Wink has his own problems and of no concern of mine(good or bad) , but the Giants are most certainly losers in this situation
