I think that our government wants to find out more because the technology falling into the hands of China, Russia or another government would be a game changer.

Hey Ted
I'm 76, should I be squirreling or spending
Quote from: gregf on March 15, 2022, 06:08:31 PMFinancial Advisor here 30 years of experience.
Bob, ( or any others)what's your take on the 4% rule of withdrawing your money? He's my scenario. During the pandemic, we had 3 coworkers about 50 all die within one month. A good friend of mine, 50 at the time, up and quit at this point. He and his wife pooled all their money and a plan to draw 7% indefinitely if the past returns continue.
My plan is to budget 50% retirement with my pension and to draw 5 to 6% from 401k for the rest. More money comes in when I can collect social security. Also, if my returns do poorly. I dont anticipate spending lavishly when I'm 75.
Anybody else have advice on withdrawal rate?

Pat and Ed,
I may not have been clear with my question. I was not referring to Eli running a 2 minute offense all game. I understand Pat's point about. My point is exactly as it seems. If we are going to run the 11 offense 90% of the time. Just let Eli call the plays. We dont have to snap the ball within 10 seconds, what I would like is to get to line within 10 seconds, let Eli do what he does best and see the defense and call a play. You can still take 30-35 seconds for each play, but lets get to the line and not let the defense substitute or be able to make their audibles.
Nothing is worse than huddling with the same formation, play after play. If we did go from an 11 to a 12 formation, all you need to do is tell Eli the formation, and let him pick the play. I understand he has the ability to change which side the play is run or from a pass to run and vice versa but his audibles are usually predetermined.
Just let him call the play as he sees fit. If there is one strength to Eli is that he knows what he is saying and he is very smart. I think Ben limits what he can do.

If the OL struggles again this year, it makes no sense bringing back both Pugh and Richburg.
I hate to be the bearer of bad news. But the Giants are a win now team. I think it will be hard pressed for them to win in about 3-4 years. Getting rid of Eli after this year makes no sense. Havign Webb take over in 2 years means you have the most inexperience player battling for a SB? Good luck.
This year and next year are SB contending years.

Good point. It be interesting to know of the last 10 first round picks how many were players which Reese had visits with.

CO, somehow I missed your post and Bob's respose and wrote the same thing. We must share the same conspiratorial mindset.
2016
Titans trade up to 8 to take Conklin
Bears trade up to 9 to take Floyd
Giants take Apple at 10
2013
49ers trade up to 18 to take Eric Reid
Giants pick Pugh at 19
2012
Bucs trade up to 31 to take Doug Martin
Giants draft David Wilson at 32
The clearest example here is the Bears, who were at 11, and moved up to 9. The only reason for them to move up was to get in front of the Giants, therefore, they knew the Giants would select Floyd. Did they know that because Jerry Reese was drooling on his shoes at Floyds pro day? I don't know. But the Bears were convinced enough by something to give up their 4th round pick. The case of Doug Martin may have been due to Mike Sullivan joining Tampa before the draft and spilling the beans.
Telegraphing may be as basic as the GM as tracking the GMs visits. It was well documented that Reese only attends a hand full of pro days, and last year that included Floyds, the year before was Flowers. It is not unreasonable to expect the Giants realized that gives other teams a clear indication of who the team is targeting, and this year they decided to throw everyone off the scent by feigning interest in another player.
