Dan Schneier
@DanSchneierNFL
I get #Giants fan frustrations about no OL or DL, but maybe it's time to try a new approach at OL. They've relied so heavily on rookies/young players & to no surprise we've seen a lot of mental & communication errors. Missed stunts, etc.
The 2024 OL has veteran depth. You may not know/like them, but they've played in the NFL & offer a diff level of baseline.

Mitch would have been somewhere between QB5 to QB7 of this draft

Even if the weaknesses on him are legitimate: straight line speed without too much great wiggle, there is most definitely enough wiggle to run some routes. He is also a great hands catcher that maximizes his immense catch radius. I saw him run a beautiful whip route here. Not many guys his size can do that. Also the seams routes, delay/late release stuff Daboll will do with him will make him a very nice complementary weapon. Excellent pick early 4th with Waller probably retiring.

Giants have transformed team speed.

Another example is the trade the Panthers made for Bryce Young

I find Casey Rogers quite intriguing. He has some game to him and rates very high in his RAS score. That score shows he needs to add about 10 lbs of muscle I guess. Put horns on each side of a helmet and a fat sword in his hands, and he'd look like a feared Viking warrior. I will be watching this guy closely to see if he can make the team and be of use to us. His athletic scores are comparable to Braden Fiske's (although Rogers wasn't invited to the combine) and would have been second fastest of all DTs. He also plays on special teams, and I've included a clip of him on a trick play where he turned a 4th and punt into a 1st down (he's no. 98)

I said 7 or 8.  For me it's all about whether the offense will be significantly improved or not.

The defense will be improved if the offense seems is.

Quote from: killarich on Today at 11:31:45 AMBetter to roll with what you have for another year then to give up future high draft picks then draft a qb who is at the same level if not maybe worse than what you already have

Delaying the change for a year and bettering the team > drafting a failed qb and now having no assets the next few years
But that doesn't make sense when this class has been heralded for years and you don't know what is there next year. Regardless we are going to have to give up capital to get a guy, why not sooner than to continue to be horrible

Quote from: Jclayton92 on Today at 09:57:37 AMI listed 1 guy yes, but you can ask a ton of guys here, there are a ton of examples of players on the line leaving and playing exceptional elsewhere that couldn't do anything here.

Not sure if he was exceptional,  but Hernandez was at least solid as a starting guard for one of the best running offenses in the NFL last year.
