Big Blue Huddle / Re: Should the Giants cut Waller?
January 17, 2024, 11:15:53 AM
With a new, even though he was here before, strength and conditioning coach, maybe Waller has a better chance at staying on the field.  That being said, I'm fine with keeping or cutting him.

How do you propose we get Daniels?  I don't think giving the farm away to move up to get him is wise and i don't think he's there when we pick.  I like him too, just think we screwed ourselves with a couple useless wins.  :surrender:

What if the Bears take Caleb and decide to trade HIM?  Kind of like, but not exactly like, the Manning for Rivers trade.  What would the Bears like in exchange for the QB and not the pick?  Just a thought...

One reason I would have fired the OL Coach by now is that as long as he is with the team, the young players are not getting better and in some cases seem worse.  I would think that getting someone in here as fast as possible would be paramount to getting the unit, especially the young players, to improve.

By far, and not just football but all sports combined, the Cowboys.  I can't even wrap my head around players wanting to play there, respectable ones anyway.   :boooo:

I am in the camp that you can never have enough edge rushers.  Eli may have been Super Bowl MVP but we beat the Patriots because of our NASCAR package..  Throwing a relentless attack at Brady of Strahan, Tuck Umenoyra, Kiwanuka, etc gave him little to no time to pass.  It's fun to watch a high powered offense but when it's fun to watch a defense, that's football!!

I voted 3rd stringer but why can't he become the next Brock Purdy?  Like a previous poster said, we deserve it.  Who knows really?  :what:

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 25, 2023, 10:19:04 AMPurdy is an example of a QB who seems to possess more of the subtle tools than the obvious ones that jump off the screen at you on an eye test analysis.

Has Purdy begun to come back down to earth? or have teams finally figured him out?  He seems pretty below average his last 2 games.

Thomas - elite
JMS  -  Difference maker
Jackson  -  Can be a difference maker
Jones  -  TT has been doing well, no rush
Neal  -  Has been bad but definitely needs playing time so we can see what we really have

I think i figured out Neal's injury...his feelings are hurt, he's day to day

Quote from: AZGiantFan on October 17, 2023, 08:24:39 PMMay he be their Golladay.

He may be their Golladay, but in on the field performance only.  We paid through the nose for Golladay  :surrender:

Maybe Ronnie Barnes can suit up   :surrender:

Who are the best current trade partners for Barkley?  Which teams are close to a championship and need a feature back or at least a complimentary back?

The point of this topic was't, "Would a top QB prospect want to play here"  It was about DJ's injury and if this gives Schoen an "out" or a built in excuse to draft a top QB.  He could easily say we would love DJ to be our QB until he retires but he has had multiple injuries and this latest one could be the most serious.  This is also a conversation that could be had with a top QB.  We liked the guy we had but unfortunately injuries forced our hand and we had to go back to the well.

Quote from: MightyGiants on October 11, 2023, 07:28:48 AMI am not sure you want to be the team that is in the market for a new QB because you ended the career of your last QB by failing to protect him.

I absolutely agree, but if your QB is hurt and is a hit away from possibly being done, you have to consider a replacement sooner rather than later.  This season has been a nightmare and some tough decisions are going to have to be made.
