Is Joe Schoen a saboteour sent from Jerry Jones?

How clueless can someone be?

An animal throwing darts at the wall could do a better job than this clown.

Singleterry is a bargain basement Barkley at best except he's been much more durable. I wouldn't be surprised to see them add another back and go committee at RB.

Cheers!

That is starting RB money similar to James Conner and Aaron Jones. So, that answers the question about Barkley's replacment.

Saquon who ???

GREAT signing.

Talent galore, speed, and lots of tread on the tires.

Finally something that tells me the front office can see talent upgrade at half the cost.

Bravo.

Devin Singletary is closer to Eric Gray than Aaron Jones.

What happened to their interest in Austin Ekeler? I'd much rather have him.

Yeh, scratch that. It is closer to Jamal Williams Money. Feels more like a platoon signing than a 3-down back.

It's pretty obvious that the Giants are finally following the modern blue print for building a team by not over-paying for a running back.  The departure of Barkley needed addressing, and the Giants did it with low-cost signing.  At 5m+ a year (and unlikely to see all 3 years), the Giants secured a veteran who can continue to show the youngsters the ropes while not breaking the bank.

Devin Singletary will not be Saquon Barkley, but most people won't get the intent and will only think Schoen signed a middling running back while puking over the loss of Barkley.

Ekeler is cooked. He fell off a cliff last year. Not the player he once was, but he'll get overpaid due to name recognition. Pass.

Singletary is not a feature back signing. The Giants are clearly going to a committee approach, which they should do, and I am pretty confident they'll address this position in the draft. Look for them to draft a RB in the third or fourth round this year.

Go into your Profile setting. Should be an option for "ignore "

Barkley had 70 more yards that Singletary and the Eagles paid 47 million instead of us paying 16, how do the Giants possibly look dumb here?

Totally agree.  Singletary has been used as such throughout his career and there is the obvious connection to Daboll and Schoen.

Right now my concern isnt RB, its QB and OL.

I like this signing, especially if we're going to a RB by committee approach. That and the rebuild meant we weren't giving a lot of money to any one RB... and Barkley did want a lot.

Go to your profile page, hover over the "Forum Profile" tab, and click "Buddy/Ignore List" in the dropdown menu that appears.

Much rather have this guy at this money than Barkley at what he is getting.  Singletary actually plays football games.

Looking at those pass blocking grades I would guess they have someone else in mind for 3rd down.

What about Joe Mixon ?

Singletary was always going to be the guy and once people calm down and look at his stats they begin to see why. Solid production. Decent but not special pass catcher. Rarely hurt.

He's just a good value signing who will never resemble rookie Saquon for excitement, but then again nor did Saquon last year! Think we add another veteran and/or a rookie and go RB by Committee like the Bills.

At 45% of Saquon $ he will give better than 45% of production with us.

Lets not forget that Singletary split carries with Damian Pierce who was supposed to be their #1 RB until it became DS. I like this signing.

Watching tape on Singletary and he has good vision plus cutback ability. Isn't spectacular but solid. Avoids tackles for loss. Lots of outside/inside zone schemes for him with Texans.

And he stays healthy!
