This assumes any of these names actually declare.

Explain your selection below.

John Mara would sell the franchise before he let Schoen or anyone draft a QB to replace Daniel Jones

Mara gone and a much needed upgrade? Sign me up lol

I like Maye a lot but Williams is a cut above. He has the ability to throw on the run, including across his body, with tremendous accuracy and arm strength. He is frequently compared to Mahomes, and I agree with the comparisons based on what I've seen.

From your lips to God's ears.... We aren't that lucky though.

Let's assume that the Giants are out to draft a QB next year and they have the number one pick, out of all those QBs, who would you think Mara would sign off on and why?

I would hope it wouldn't come to that, but without digging more into that, I'd have a hard time thinking he would have an issue with either of the consensus top 2.

But if he were to pick one, I think Williams resume probably edges out, though Maye has more prototypical size, Williams I think is one of the best QB Prospects in the past decade. Maye is up there also

Caleb is just playing out of his mind right now.

I do think both are going to be very very good though.

TL;DR Caleb Williams.

If the Giants draft a QB at anytime before shoring up that O-Line it will just be the same thing all over again.

I suspect they will draft a QB; however, I do not see them starting him in 2024-25 season.

With jones only getting a 2year deal, his neck injury history, his desire to run and expose himself to big hits, his inability to process data when under pressure I do not see how Schoen doesn't take use the opportunity to get his second shot at keeping his job. Unless a Kerry Collins FA signing is possible.

That being said, based on the state of the Giants line, I suspect they will get more pieces of the ever-allusive Oline puzzle.  For 11 years the Giants have proven without a line your ceiling for team success is limited.  None of the other peices of the team matter if they can not build an Oline.

As such in 2024-2025 the Gaints will continue to let the Oline develop into a unit, they let Jones playout the last year of his contract and either wait till the 2025-2026 to play rookie QB or wait until a mid season opportunity presents itself similar to when manning replaced Kurt Warner.

If the Giants end up in the top 5 and the Bears (thanks to the Panthers) get the #1 pick the Giants should figure out what it costs to move up and get Caleb Williams.  To me he's clearly the best QB in this draft and the best QB to come out in a few years.  Maybe since the Herbert/Burrow/Tua year even though Stroud looks amazing in his first season.

Maye seems good, but he's not at that level to me.  So if you're going to make the leap and draft a QB I think you gotta go all out to get the best guy rather than settle for one of the others.  At that point you might be better off drafting Marvin Harrison Jr if you can or the best defensive player available.

IMO that should be Schoen's call.  He was hired to sign off and run football operations.  If there wasn't that trust that he can make that decision he should have never been hired.

Most owners if not all are involved in that decision. Even the knowledgeable and Former Division 1 Owner in Texas.

Can't trade up until you know for sure Williams won't go back to school.

I would be happy with any of the 3 of
Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, or Sheddur Sanders.

I think too many people look at college stats and then go to checkout window to buy.

Unlike the NFL there is so much disparity between college teams which means competition varies immensely between games with likely gaudy stats being generated by QBs.  QBs can have really long periods of safe time in a pocket to throw a pass, WRs run routes and get 5-10 yards of separation from a CB covering him.

Nope not my interest.  Let me pick the specific games to watch to pick the competition then watch for conditions the QB has to play in such as tough defense and look at how he handles adversity and whether he makes tight window completions and lastly and probably most important, what is his maturity and mental makeup.  That is the only way I would pick a QB.

I dont have an opinion yet.  Still formulating.
